The small goddess holds her tunic skirt up as she ran as fast as she could to the same valley she first fell into. Summer had ended a week earlier then everyone had anticipated, she did feel bad for any poor humans who weren't ready for the crisp weather yet but she couldn't wait another minute to get to her lover
That summer had been one of the hardest she had endured since her frequent visits to the underworld. There had been so many babies born, of human and animal then even a few goddesses gave their lovers children. The love that they all had in their eyes made her love sick for Hades. She felt like running right to him and never letting go. After boarding the boat she sat to catch her breath as she adjusted to the dark underworld
Her visit with the large guard dog was shorten then normal but she promised to be back with a special treat after she had kisses Hades hello. She hardly gave time for the boat to stop before jumping out and running up the path to the beautiful castle. She shoves open the door with her heart pounding wildly as she looked around the throne room before rushing upstairs to find him "Hades!" She calls out "Hades!" She pushes open her paint room door then turns to run to their bedroom before seeing a sleepy and startled but extremely happy looking Hades walk shirtless from their room "My Queen, you're home" he says happily with a big smile before hurrying to her
She took a moment to let the sweet words and beautiful sight of him settle in before rushing towards him and hugging him tightly. She felt a flood of tears wash over her as she inhales deeply and takes in his scent
He smiles as she hugs her close and kisses the top of her head before pulling out to look at her while cupping her cheek gently "I've missed your beautiful smile"
This made Persephone smile and giggle softly despite the slow tears that fell down her cheek "Oh love, it was so difficult being without you" she says before flinging her arms around him again "I wish I could stay here forever with you"
"Me too. I really wish you could stay here forever" he says with a small sigh before forcing a smile "But darling, think of what earth would be without you. Many would die or be very unhappy" he says trying to help her feel better about it
She smiles at him "Thank you" she gives him a small kiss before gently taking his hands and admiring him for a moment. She had missed him so much it was refreshing to her eyes to see him again "Well, what is it we should do now?" She asks curiously
He smirks a little "Ah, well. I could think of a few things" he says in a cocky way
She blushes and gently hits his arm "Not what I meant!" She says flustered
He chuckles and hugs her tightly then lays a kiss on her head "I'm sorry, you're just too adorable when you blush like that" he says
She playfully rolls her eyes and smiles "Come on, lets go look at the garden. I've missed seeing the unique flowers" she says taking his hand as she leads him outside "I've tried to recreate a few on earth because of how beautiful they are but the atmosphere just doesn't support things like that" she says while pushing open the gate and looking around the garden before looking back at Hades who was just staring at her. She blushes and looks at him rather surprised "Love, are you alright?" She asks him
Hades slowly smiles "Yes, I'm wonderful. But, I've got a question I need to ask you. You stay here. I'll be back in a moment" he says gently kissing her cheek before hurrying back to the castle
Persephone tilts her head slightly as she watches him in slight confusion before turning her attention back to the beautiful garden. Though she did avoid the pomegranate tree despite the beauty of it she never quite felt right being around it alone
She hadn't wandered far so Hades quickly found her when he had returned from the castle. She smiles at him "What was that about?" She asks
He just smiles and takes her hand "Don't you worry, little one" he says calmly
She gently holds his hand and swings it gently as she begins to walk again but he stays put making their hands separate. She frowns a little and looks back at Hades who was now kneeling on one knee. Her eyes grow wide as she stares at him. So many thoughts raced through her mind but she tried not to get her hopes up in case he was only tying his sandal
He smiles at her "Come a little closer, Queen" he says softly as he holds his hand out to her which she gently takes. He beams at her making her heart race even faster
"Darling" he begins in a soft voice that made her heart flutter "I think this took much to long and there's no one to blame but me, please excuse my tardiness" she giggles a little and smiles before placing her hand over her mouth as she feels tears rising. He gazes at her for a moment "I haven't got any fancy words for you. But you can have everything I have, I'll share everything with you. I want to have a wonderful life with you and have you as mine forever" he smiles and takes a small breath to calm his own excitement "Persephone, my Queen, will you marry me?"
She gasps softly as small tears spill despite her attempt to keep them in. She smiles happily and sniffles a little before nodding happily "Yes, yes of course Hades" she whispers softly after finding her voice. She quickly steps forward and hugs him tightly. He was so tall that even on one knee he was her height. He hugs her back happily before gently placing her on his other knee. He holds out his hand with the tiny ring in it, it looked so delicate and tiny in his hand
She smiles at him and gently lets go to carefully pick up the ring and place it on her finger. She holds her hand out so the both can look at it. It was absolutely stunning. She'd never imagined something so beautiful before, even when they briefly spoke of it she never thought this would be the result but some how it was absolutely exactly what she had wanted in every single way
"Oh Hades" she sighs softly as she looks at him with a smile and glossy eyes "It's so perfect. Thank you" she softly cups his cheek. He smiles at her as he gently holds her waist "Of course it's perfect. I had it made for you specifically. It took months as well, but I think it's worth the wait. It's not nearly as beautiful as you-.." Persephones cheeks were bright red with all the compliments she wasn't sure she could take anymore so she gently kisses him. After a satisfying kiss she pulls away with a smile "I love it. I love you, Hades" she whispers
He smiles and gently tucks some hair behind her ear "And I love you" he whispers back happily before picking her up gently as the bride she was and taking her back to the castle where she would spend her time being the Queen of the underworld, the Goddess of spring but most important to her, the wife of Hades
What do you think??? Did I give you all the long awaited proposal you all wanted?? I really hope I did. And don't be sad! That's not all! Expect much more from this book! Love you all!! And thank you for the support, one like really gives me the confidence to continue
