Calista's pov

As I took my last breath, I knew, in that moment, that I had loved all I could love and lived all I could live.

Six years ago

"Cal, come on, we're going to be late!" My mum called from downstairs. Today was the day that I went to Hogwarts. I shut my trunk, locked it, and drug it down the stairs. "Incoming!" I yelled as I pushed it down the stairs.

I ran after it as it landed with a thud. "Calista Jones!" My mum yelled. "This is not a circus, you can't just throw things around and chase after them as you please! Now hurry up," That girl is going to be the death of me.

I rolled my eyes and got into the car with my mum. She was a muggle. My dad left a few years ago. I don't remember much of him, only that he looked like me, or I looked like him, whatever. I was a Legilimens, meaning I could read minds. My mum always got on to me when I read her thoughts, but sometimes, I can't control it. I don't like public places much because it's too loud, even if nobody is talking. I can still hear them.

About 30 minutes later, we made it to Kings Cross Station. I grabbed my trunk out of the back, along with my toad, Petunia. "I'm not sure what you're supposed to do, Kid. I love you, so so much. I'll see you at Christmas," she gave me a bone crushing hug and kissed my forehead.

"I love you too, mum," I said

I looked around, also not sure on what to do, until I saw a boy with a trunk just like mine, and a shaven head. He was a bit taller than I was. "Excuse me, hi, do you know where platform nine and three-quarters is?"

"Oh erm, yeah. I think we just run straight through that wall,"

"Are you joking?"

"I'm dead serious,"

"Right, well, let's go, shall we?"

He started to run towards the wall, I followed suit. I closed my eyes as we ran through the wall. When we emerged from the other side, I accidentally ran into his trolly, making everything from his cart fall over to the concrete.

"Oh, I am so sorry, I didn't mean to. Here, let me help," I quickly helped him pick up his things and he muttered a 'thanks' before the two of us went to get on the train.

"Mind if I sit with you?" I asked.

"Erm, sure," he replied. We stepped into the train, and walked down the narrow passage and into an empty compartment. I sat down across from him.

"I'm Calista Jones, by the way," I stuck out my hand for him to shake. He looked at me wearily before taking it. "Remus Lupin,"

"Well it's very nice to meet you, Remus," I said with a smile. "Do you like to read?"

His face got red and he sunk down in his seat. "No," he mumbled. I want to get out of here. He thought.

"You can leave if you'd like," I said

He looked at me. That was mean for me to say. "I like your company," he said.

"Why don't you like reading?" I asked. I didn't mean to be annoying, I just didn't know what to talk about.

Because I can't. "Just not my thing, I guess," he shrugged.

"I won't tell anyone," I whispered.

"What are you on about?"

"About your dyslexia,"

"How did you-"

"Figure it out? I can read minds, silly," I giggled.

"You're mental," he muttered

"Don't believe me? Go on them, test me. See if I'm faking it,"
