Third Year

"REMMY!" I squealed as I ran up to him. He got a lot taller. We both had matured a bit over holiday. His voice deepened a bit. I got a bit taller. He had more scars. I had more of a...figure. I was coming into my body, I guess.

How the hell does she always smell so good?

"It's because I shower, Remus. I shower,"

"Oh sod off, Cal," he chuckled.

"You love me,"

He blocked me out again. "I guess," he sighed.

"Would you stop doing that?"

"Nope,"

"Asshole," I muttered.

"Calista Marie Jones, I am shocked at your foul language. I shall report you to the ministry immediately," he said in a posh accent as we sat down in the compartment.

"I'm so scared," I said in a monotone voice. Remus shifted so that his head was laying on my lap.

"Hi," he said

"Hi," I said back

He blocked me out again.

We stared at each other for a minute before James, Sirius, and Peter came into the compartment. "Oi, lovebirds, snap out of it," James said as he lifted Remus' legs and sat down.

"My mum still laughs about Christmas," James said

"What happened at Christmas?" Remus asked. I had forgotten to tell him.

"Oh erm-"

"SHE COMPLETELY DEMOLISHED MY DAD IN CHESS AND THEN GAVE HIM TIPS!" James laughed

"I don't see how that's funny," I said

"You have a grown man tips...that had to be embarrassing for him," Remus laughed.

I smacked him on the forehead and his jaw hung open. "I swear, every year she gets meaner and meaner," he said

"I think we need to cleanse her again," Sirius said. I knew what they meant. I quickly stood up and pulled out my wand. Peter, Remus, James, and Sirius were all point their wands at me. "Don't even think about it, or I will hex you into oblivion,"

"Alright, alright. Truce," James said. But I knew their plan. As we all started to lower our wands, we all put them up at the same time. But I was too late. They all screamed a spell and I was drenched in water. My shirt clung to my body, my hair fell down, and my glasses were falling down my face.

I looked over at Sirius. Holy shit.

Then James. Holy shit.

Then Peter. Holy shit.

Then Remus. Nothing.

"Somebody dry me off before I kill you all!" Remus seemed to snap out of it and dried me off.

"Thank you," I said and sat back down. "Assholes," I muttered.

"Chess?" James asked

"You're on,"

I pulled out my board, put the pieces in my hand. Remember what Larson said. White. I could still win with black, especially since I know that he's been reading Larson. The game was like a never ending game of tag. It went on for most of the train ride. Peter had fallen asleep, so had Sirius. But Remus, Remus was wide awake, on the floor, his legs crisscrossed as he watched the match intensely. I was so close to losing. So close. But James surrendered. I don't think he knew that he could've won in one move. Damn. He thought.
