Wedding Bells on New Years, Canine Style
Alex sat lazily on his bed, although it was almost six at night, his new dog Silver laying happily next to him. Both were waiting all day for Skylar and Hailey to get there.
His eyes fell across the room which sat unchanged throughout the entire day because he neglected to get up except to get something to eat or drink for either Silver or himself, as well as get dressed for when his friends show up. He chuckled to himself until his gaze fell upon a single full white object in the room: his wedding dress.
It took them a little while, but Hailey and Skylar had finally managed to talk him into wearing a dress instead of a suit like Dakota himself. The wedding itself was in two hours and Skylar and Hailey were supposed to be here in a few minutes to help him get ready since he wasn't used to 'girl' stuff.
It had been atleast five months since Dakota had asked him to marry him, on his birthday too; except, he remembered every detail as if it all happened yesterday.
He got up, not disturbing Silver at all and walked over to the dress, sighing, but smiling softly at the idea of finally marrying the one he loved. And on New Years too.
"Oh Alex honey!" He looked to the door, his ears and tail twitching lightly, of his bedroom and saw the door opening to reveal Hailey, a calico cat with pink hair, and Skylar, a re fox with brown hair.
Hailey smiled softly as she saw him near the dress and Skylar grinned proudly. "You ready to get ready for the wedding?" Hailey asked and he nodded without a second thought. "Alright then."
After a few hours, which was only an hour, Alex was standing in front of his bedroom mirror, the dress on. He was also wearing a viel and some white high heels, but surprisingly, he was able to wear everything perfectly without any trouble. He smiled lightly at himself and Skylar looked him over, nodding in approvment.
"You really love him, don't you?" Hailey asked him in a soft, almost motherly voice as she fixed the viel with a white rose, just so it didn't mess with his ears much.
Alex nodded to her, turning to her. "Of course I love him! If I didn't, I wouldn't be wearing this ridiculous dress and I wouldn't be getting married to him. On New Years no less." he said, meaning every word he had said.
"Admit it Alex, you like wearing the dress." Skylar said, smirking her all-knowning smirk and he sighed, looking back into the mirror.
"I guess... I kind of do like wearing the dress, though did I really have to switch to girl's underwear?" The two girls nodded to that and he groaned in response. "So... where's Dakota?" he asked the two and they looked to each other secretly. "Um... are going to answer me?" the only response he got were them shaking their heads 'no'.
"Now it's our turn to ask you a question." Skylar said after a little bit. Alex looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Are you planning on sharing the New Years kiss with him at the after party?" Hailey asked and he looked to the mirror, his initial thinking face appearing.
"I... I don't actually know. I mean, Dakota may have other plans after the wedding." he blushed when he said that, immediately shutting up when the other two giggled at that.
"The New Years kiss?" Dakota stared at the three other boys in the room with a smirk on his face. Danny, a rabbit, Jake, a cow, and Henry, a vegetarian coyote, nodded.
"Yeah! So, are you going to share it with him at the party?" Danny asked him, watching as Dakota stared at the mirror in front of him and looked him over with awe. Dakota was in an all black tuxedo, his full black tail and his ears showing in plain sight. He was proud to show his ears to the world like his friends would, even if the wedding is in his town and not back at home, at the DeKKan Academy.
