I rather like JewelShipping, although my friend Kallik doesn't like it much. She does love my Animal Spirits story though, as well as Jeweled Spirits only because of Ite and Akatsuki.

The Animals' New Years

Ame smiled brightly at the outcome of his idea; everything for the New Years party had been set up perfectly and any minute now his friends would be showing up for it. He wasn't normally for New Years because of the whole 'kiss factor' thing and it annoyed him, but this year he wanted to use that to his advantage with his boyfriend, Kumo.

It had taken him hours to set everything up and now it's only minutes until showtime and he was ecstatic.

"Well, I have to say that you did a pretty good job with this little party of yours." Ame turned his head to see the black haired vampire and grinned wide.

"It's not just a 'little party'. It's the biggest party of the year; the New Years party. Do you even know what that means, Kumo?" he questioned, watching him walk up to the eighteen year old kit.

"Yes, I know. It celebrates the beginning of a new year, creating a new start for some people. Although, I had no idea you were into this type of thing." Kumo replied, wrapping his arms around Ame as the kitten leaned into him.

"Well, uh, I'm normally not... but this is sort of a special occasion." Their conversation ended when they heard the familiar chatter of their friends: Odori, Akatsuki, Miryoku, and Banira. "Miru! Nira! Suki! Ori! You guys made it!" Ame broke from Kumo's grip as soon as it loosened and ran to hug his four friends.

"Of course we made it!" Miryoku grinned back.

"Do you honestly think we'd miss a great party like this?" Odori questioned him and he chuckled.

"We'd never miss a special occasion like this with a best friend like you." Banira purred happily.

"You got that right!" Akatsuki laughed, causing Ame to roll his eyes before a question sparked his mind.

"Hey... where are the others?" he asked.

"Well..." Banira paused, the thinking look on her face so Miryoku took over.

"The other guests should arrive here soon, while Sukai and Hana have some family business to deal with before coming here." she said, skipping some information just to see his reaction.

Ame smiled for a second before frowning. "W-what about.... h-him...?"

"Don't worry." Kumo sighed and glared at Miryoku and she gave him a sheepish smile. "He and Kai will come in a little bit, just wait."

Ame sighed in relief and smiled as he saw some of the guests arrive. "Well that's a relief."

"Mhm, now come on, let's go set up the music and enjoy the party." Kumo grinned, grabbing his hand and leading him away from the others.

A few hours had passed before it was reaching near midnight.

"Kumo... he's not here yet..." Ame whimpered and Kumo frowned lightly, coming back with two cups of punch, which may have been spiked. Ame took one of the cups and took a large gulp of the drink.

"Alright Ame, that's the last cup you're having." the vampire mumbled, taking a small drink of his own.

"But Kumo~!" Ame whined, sniffling. "He isn't here yet! Why isn't he here yet?!" A light tear fell from his eyes and Kumo grimaced.

"Ame, calm down, he'll be here, don't worry." He said, his words slightly bitter though Ame never heard the difference since he was concidered drunk. 'He better get here or I'm fucked.' he growled in his head before looking up as he heard a familiar bark and sighed in relief. 'Oh thank god!'
