Hunter's and Angel's New Years
This was officially the worst New Years that the little fox had ever experienced.
First of all, he was still stuck with being a damned demon fox animal, second, he had to spend time with the one he loved that didn't love him back, and third, that said person had been spending the entire New Year’s weekend with some girl they had just met when they came to this town.
"Hunter~!" The girl, Amethyst, whined, clinging onto the red haired adult as the three, Angel himself included, walked inside a small breakfast diner for a small lunch. Angel's hidden ears lowered slightly in hot, bitter, jealousy of the pathetic 'slut' that clung to the one he loved.
"Yes Amethyst?" Hunter questioned, using his usual charming tone on her just as he did with all girls he met.
"Yes Amethyst?" Angel mocked bitterly in a voice that almost mimicked Hunter's own.
Amethyst stuck her tongue out at the young fox before whining more. "Angel has been giving me dirty looks since I came to the hotel with you." she said pitifully, almost in a childish way. His nose scrunched up in disgust and he looked away, gagging.
"Angel, stop that or you will have to have your own room tonight." Hunter spat out and Angel looked down, quieting immediately. He hated when Hunter yelled at him or said something like that, it always caused a small shot of pain to go through his chest.
"Sorry..." he mumbled, sitting in an empty booth, real disappointed when Hunter sat across from him, next to Amethyst. He growled softly but stayed quiet.
"So... tonight is the New Years countdown." Amethyst purred out.
"Ick, save it for the hotel..." Angel said bitterly and way too childishly.
"Angel, enough already." Hunter glared at the little fox and turned his attention to Amethyst. Angel whimpered slightly at the outcome of events and picked up a menu, pretending to read it over. "Yes, I know tonight is the New Year’s countdown." Hunter sighed, but smiled nonetheless, which looked almost forced.
"Oh look, it's a rare Jaded Lotus..." Angel started, really starting to get more than jealous of the girl. He did not want to hear what could have been of that conversation.
"Yeah, so?" Amethyst shrugged to the mention of the green lotus' in the window sill of the booth they were sitting at.
"Did you know that the Jaded Lotus is usually a bad omen to those who have plans on the New Years hour, ne, should one see it anyway." he said in almost a casual way before his eyes widened slightly and he squeaked softly as he noticed the harsh glare directed towards him and he hid his head in his arms, his hood covering his head all the way. "Shutting up now..." he whimpered in a hushed tone so no one, except maybe Hunter, will hear him.
"That's just awful...!" Amethyst stared at the flower. "But how could a flower so beautiful do such a harmful thing to people?" she asked and Angel had to stifle his fox-like laughter and shrunk back deeper into his seat.
Many people never knew it because of what others have said, but the Jaded Lotus was the greatest symbol of love, of true love. Angel was the only one, besides his brother Derek, that knew of this between those he's met. Not even Hunter knew, because Angel was always afraid to tell him of things that marked the beginning or events of love.
"Don't listen to him, that isn't true at all." Hunter said, hesitantly though as he too stared at the lotus, then to the hidden kit, and back to the lotus before turning his gaze to look at the menu's, trying not to pay attention to anything else at all.
