Nova's Pov
I was in shock and didn't know what to do. "Does anyone know where he could've gone?" Darry asked. "No," everyone said and I didnt say anything. I thought long and hard and then suddenly something clicked.
"I know where he is," I said and ran out. I ran as fast as I could before he was gone. I felt numb as the night got colder and colder. I finally arrived and saw him standing there with a duffel bag in hand.
"Sodapop stop!" I yelled as he started walking and he stopped am looked at me. "Nova what are you doing here get out of here!" he said as I finally got to him.
"Soda please don't leave," I said as the train came to a halt. "Nova please just go, I can't stay here anymore, I can't have you I don't have Steve and I'm just a high school drop out who's too stupid to help his family!" He yelled and we were both crying.
"Soda I'm right here! You have me! I'm not going anywhere you can't get rid of me! Fuck Steve! If I want you then I'm gonna have you he's not in charge just please don't leave me!" I yelled through my tears.
"Sodapop please," I said and grabbed his duffel bag and threw it to the side. "Nova I-" "Sodapop you can't leave," Steve said coming up to us. "what?" Soda asked.
"I don't care if you and Nova are together, I'm sorry I didn't realize it sooner but you guys need to be together," Steve said.
"Soda if you leave nothing will be the same, I'll forever be alone because I love you and only you," I said. "I love you too Nova," Soda said and kissed me. After we pulled away I hugged him.
"Just come home to me," I said. "You are my home," he said and I smiled. We all walked back home and I helped him put his stuff back in there places.
"Why now Steve?" I asked after I sat down on the couch with Soda. "what do you mean?" He asked. "What made you decide to let us be together?" I asked.
"Dal helped knock some sense into me," He replied and I looked at Dally who shrugged. I walked over and hugged him.
"Hug back for once please," I said and he gave in. "Thank you," I whispered. "You're welcome," He whispered back and I went back over and sat with Soda.
"I'm sorry," Soda whispered. "for what?" I whispered back. "for trying to leave, I didn't know what I was doing," He said.
"It's ok Sodapop, you have me and Steve both back and you still have everyone else," I said. "I love you," he said. "I love you," I said. "say it again," he said. I laughed. "why?" I asked.
"You sound so happy when you say it," he says. "because I am," I said. "I love you Sodapop Patrick Curtis, and I want the whole world to know," I said.
"Then let's go yell it to the world," He said. I got up and held out my hand and pulled him up. "It's raining!" He said.
"I don't care," I said and ran outside. I ran into the middle of the street and smiled. "I LOVE SODAPOP PATRICK CURTIS!" I yelled as I got soaked from the rain.
"YOURE CRAZY!" He yelled. "COME ON!" I yelled back and he ran to where I was. "I LOVE NOVA BLAKE RANDLE!" He yelled and I laughed. He hugged me and kissed me.
"Dance with me," I said. "There's no music silly," he said. "who needs it?" I asked. He put his hand on my waist and I put mine on his shoulder as we took each other's other hand.
"Nova I've never been happier than I am now," He said. "Me neither,"I said. The others walked out as we were dancing and laughed.
"There's no music!" Johnny yelled. "Who cares!" I yelled back. Dally grabbed Rorys hand and started dancing with her too.
Then Raven and Andrew, Sawyer and Levi, and Steve and Evie started dancing too.
Two-Bit started dancing with Darry as a joke so Johnny and Ponyboy started dancing as a joke as well. I leaned into Sodas chest and smiled.
"I'm not angry anymore," I whispered. "with who?" he asked. "anyone at all," I said. "Good," He said and spun me around then dipped me. "Switch me for a sec Soda," Dally said and he nodded and danced with his sister.
"Thank you Dallas," I said. "for what?" he asked. "helping me and Soda," I said. "what are best friends for?" he replied. "Ok now switch me," Johnny said and he laughed and hesitantly danced with Ponyboy.
"Sorry I wasn't as much help as Dal," Johnny said. "Don't be, you did enough," I said.
"I'm happy for you Nova," He said. "Thanks Johnnycakes," I said. "Ok I want my girlfriend back," Soda said walking over.
Johnny and I laughed and switched back all to our original partners. I am so happy. "Never leave me," I said to Soda. "Would never even think of it, well anymore," he said and I laughed and kissed him.
