• Thranduil's POV •

I was sitting on my throne when a gaurd stormed in.

"My lord, there is an elleth here who wishes to speak with you." said the gaurd.

"Search her for weapons then bring her in." I replied.

With that the gaurd left and came back a few minutes later with the elleth. She wore a black dress with a green cloak over it. She had blonde wavy hair and dark green eyes.

She seemed familar, I just could not put a name on her.

"Who are you and why have you come?" I asked.

"I-..I am Talia" she replied.

She spoke very quietly, she seemed to be afraid.

"Talia?" I asked in disbelief.

"It can't be you."

Talia said nothing.

"W-why have you come?" I asked again.

She began to explain to me how orcs attached her home, how it was so unexpected. They were outnumbered and many were killed, including her mother and father.

"Oh...I am so sorry" I began but she continued to explain everything.

• Talia's POV •

"I managed to escape with a few others and how unlike everyone else, I decided to come here, to Mirkwood" I said.

"Why did you come here?", Thranduil asked.

I froze in thought for a moment.

I wasn't really sure why i wanted to come to Mirkwood. Something inside me was just telling me I should come. But I decided to say, "Mirkwood was the closest choice, I was afraid the orcs would follow us. I wanted to get to the closest shelter.

Then King Thranduil spoke,

"Why should I welcome you? You ran away a week before we were to be married."

I felt my face turn pink as I remembered the day he had proposed. I had to say yes, my parents were pretty much forcing me to. A week before our wedding I ran away, i felt horrible for doing it, but i was just not ready to be married. Ofcourse when I finally returned my parents were still outraged, but they soon let go of the past. Finally I broke the silence and said, "I know, and I am sorry. I was just not ready to marry anyone, including you."

Suddenly a young elf walked into the King's throne room and looked at me then. He had long, straight blonde hair and bright blue eyes.

"Who is this?" the elf asked.

"This is Talia", Thranduil replied, "and Talia this is Legolas, my son."How do you know her?" Legolas asked.

"She is... A very old freind of mine" Thranduil said.
