•Lilias's POV•
Bilbo and I made our way down to the dungeons where the dwarves were. When we got to Thorin's cell, Bilbo explained to him how I would help them escape if I could come with them.
"An elf does not belong on our quest" said Thorin.
"We need her help, Thorin" said Bilbo.
"Fine. This better not be any trick.. you daughter of Thranduil" said Thorin.

I helped them by distracting the gaurds, or whoever else might of come close to catching them, while Bilbo got the keys and helped the dwarves out. Soon enough the gaurds noticed the dwarves had escaped, and most of them went to search for them. I thought this would be a good time for me to escape, so I slipped out the front gate without anyone seeing me. I followed Bilbo and the dwarves as they floated down the river in barrels. I couldn't keep myself from laughing at them. Finally they came to the shore. They all pulled themselves out of the barrels. I went to poor Bilbo who was freezing to death, and trying his best to get out.
I held out my hand to him, and he took it.
"Thank you dear" said Bilbo
I looked at all the dwarves and smiled.
"Will you tell me your names?" I asked. They started to intoduce themselves.
There names were: Dwalin, Balin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Ori, Nori, Dori, Oin, Gloin, Fili and Kili.
Thorin walked up to me and said, "I am not responsible for anything that happens to you."
"O-ok" I replied.
Suddenly a man appeared and he pointed his bow at Ori who was dumping the water out of his boots. Dwalin jumped in front of him holding part of a thick branch. The man shot the branch Dwalin was holding. Kili picked up a rock, but before he could throw t the man shot it too.
"Do it again and your dead" said the man.
--
Balin persuaded the man to take us across the lake, they had to pay him a lot, but the man finally let us on his boat. The man's name was Bard, and he seemed like a nice man, I just wasn't sure yet. Before we got to the gate he made Bilbo and the dwarves get into the barrels that they had floated down the river in, so no one would see them.
"Get in" he told me.
"What? Why me? I am sure they will let me in" I said.
"Oh.. and why's that?" Bard asked.
"B-because... I'm the Princess of Mirkwood" I said.
"What? Why did you leave?" he asked.
"I ran away. I am tired of staying at home all the time" I said.
"I-I can't have you on my barge.. or in my house for that matter. I am sure your father is going to come, and look for you.. If he finds you in my house he might think that I kidnapped you or something" he said.
"Well then.. I will tell him that that is not true. Now let's go" I said, smiling.
At the second gate a man named Alfred stopped us.
"Who are you?" Alfred asked.
"I-I'm Lilia" I said.
At first he was not too sure about letting me in, but when I told him I was the princess of Mirkwood he changed his mind.  I did not care if everyone knew who I was. I knew my Adar would find me eventually. I just wanted a little freedom.
We went to Bard's house until it was safe to leave. Apparently his house was being watched, so we had to stay there until nightfall.
The dwarves sncuk out and tried to steal some weapons from the town's armery. They were caught. Thorin persuaded the Master to let us go to the mountain. This made Bard very angry. He said that the dragon would attack Laketown.. and kill us all.
I was nervous. I had not thought much about the dragon that was probably still in there. Adar had told me about dragons before. He had told me about dragon fire and how he was almost killed by it.  When we reached the mountain
we had to find the hidden door. After a little while of searching Bilbo spotted a path that led up the mountain, and to the hidden door. The hard part was finding the key hole. When the sun was almost down the dwarves began to get angry. "Where is it?" Dwalin yelled.
"Break it down!" Thorin yelled.
Some of the dwarves grabbed there axe and attempted to break through the door, but it was no use.
The dwarves decided there was nothing else to do. The door could not be open by force, so they gave up. They all began to climb back down the mountain.
"Wait, are you just going to give up?" I asked.
"You can't give up now!" Bilbo yelled. Thorin gave Bilbo the map and before he went to climb down the mountian he dropped the key.
__
I didn't want to leave yet, because knowing my luck my adar would be in Laketown waiting for me. He might already even be coming up the mountain to get me, because everyone in Laketown knew i was here, and would have told him where I was. I stayed and watched Bilbo as he walked back an forth trying to figure out what to do.
Suddenly the moon shone brightly and revealed a key whole in the door."The last light. The last light is the last moon of Autumn!" Bilbo yelled out so the dwarves could hear. "Where's the key? It was just here!" said Bilbo. Bilbo accidently kicked the key, and it was just about to fly off the cliff when Thorin stopped it. He knelt down and picked it up. By then all the other dwarves had made it up again. Thorin put the key in the key hole, turned it, and slowly pushed the door open. We all began to enter the mountain. There was a picture carved in the wall just above the door. It was a picture of a throne, and above it was a big jewel like thing.
"What's that avove it?" Bilbo asked.
"That, master burglar, is why you are here." said Thorin.
