Tasha
The day i forgot about my son's basketball match and my daughter's ballet performance resulted in a huge fight between Henry and i. I found myself being compared to Anya and being told that i wasn't a good mother or a wife. What ticked me off the most is being compared someone else, a maid to make matters worse. This is all because i missed events this once.
We haven't been in good terms with Henry since that day. It have been quarrels, quarrels and quarrels. Even my children were giving me silent treatment and refusing to forgive me.
The following morning, i woke up and found everyone missing so i went downstairs. Everyone seemed to be going somewhere, they were all dressed up for a picnic or something.
"Hey, guys. Where are you off to?" i asked.
"We're going for a picnic for a week." Henry replied coldly.
"But you didn't inform me about it." i said feeling as if my family is sidelining me. In fact they were.
"Oh yeah. You've not sealed the deal yet with the Santos so i think you are too busy to come for a picnic since work is important to you nowadays." He said.
"Dad we are running late." Henry Junior said. That hurt. I could feel my tears at the verge of rolling down.
"See you later. Good luck on the deal." Henry said and turned to Henry, Anya and Hannah. "Lets go." the kids cheered up but i interrupted them.
"I want to come with you guys. I will just grab some clothes and soon will be on the way." i said with my voice a little bit shaking. My family was the reason i was staying alive. They were my strength and whatever they were doing right now was like being buried countless times. I was breaking little by little.
"No we don't wanna go with you." Hannah yelled. I take that she's still angry with me.
"You don't want mom to come, why?" i asked Hannah as i kneeled to her level. "I know you're still angry with me. I was wrong okay. I'm sorry." i said but the words didn't change anything she just shook herself out of my hands and she did the most unexpected thing. She went and hugged Anya. I felt like Anya was taking my family away from me but it was not her fault. I was in the wrong. I shouldn't have missed those events. I was defeated so i just agreed to them going. "Okay. Have fun." with that they left.
A tear escaped and quickly rubbed it off. I shouldn't have forgotten the match and the performance i wouldn't be paying the price. I took this as my punishment.
I decided to have a shower and got dressed into a deep red pencil skirt paired it with a white bloused which i tucked in. I wore black four inch pumps and left for work. I needed to get myself from thinking about what just happened.
Despite trying hard it kept flashing back. What i was afraid of was happening. My family drifting apart.
"Hey what are thinking so deeply?" Nic 's voice drew me out of my trance.
