"Hey, can I ask you something?" Robbie had been quiet after he'd told Allen good morning, pushing his breakfast around with his fork without much interest. It was just the two of them this morning at the breakfast table, a strange occurrence. Even without the Suitors to fill the many chairs, generally there would be a few council members present at breakfast, as well as the King. It seems that the Council had decided to take their leave with King Scott travelling, which meant that the Palace felt oddly empty.

Allen wouldn't have minded, usually, but Robbie was being uncharacteristically quiet.

"Sure. What's up?" He asked, turning his attention away from his crepe. He had simply meant to give Robbie his undivided attention, because the Omega seemed so glum right now, but he just fidgeted nervously in his seat.

"Uhm, so I was just wondering- I mean you don't really have to answer if you don't want, I just-" Robbie sighed, eyes downcast and cheeks tinged pink, "Did you and King Scott sleep together?"

That wasn't really what Allen had been expecting. Perhaps the King's scent still lingered on him, even though he'd been sure to shower thoroughly this morning, or maybe King Scott truly had been as loud as Allen had suggested last night. Still, he had no reason to lie, so he nodded. "Yeah, we did."

The Omega's shoulders slumped, "Oh."

"...Does that bother you?" Allen ventured to ask, setting his fork down in favor of his coffee.

Robbie sucked in his bottom lip, clearly not planning on answering the question as he avoided eye contact. Allen was reminded of just how young Robbie was, that he was probably out of his depth with this entire situation. He was too, honestly, but at least he had some experience with relationships.

"Robbie."

The Omega glanced up at him before looking away again quickly, shrugging as though that was a proper response.

"This isn't going to work well if we aren't open with each other," Allen set his coffee down, leaning over so that he could hook his fingers under his chin and force him to look up, "I'm not going to judge you for how you feel."

Robbie whined quietly but didn't try to move away, green eyes big as he pouted, "I just thought you didn't like the King."

"Romantically? No, I don't."

"So then why..."

"It was just casual. I think we're both aware of the King's sexual tendencies, and he asked me." Allen leaned back in his seat again, "If you're jealous or something, then that's something we can talk about, but I can't just guess how you're feeling Robbie."

Robbie nodded, though he was standing up, glancing at the door like it might disappear on him. "I'm not jealous, I just thought I'd smelled... you know, on the King when he went to say goodbye to me this morning. Anyway, I have some... stuff I need to go do, so I'll see you later." He rambled before leaving quickly, leaving his breakfast mostly untouched.

Allen had not expected overseeing the Palace to be so difficult. As far as King Scott had explained, it was mostly just the heads of each respective department reporting to him when needed, which Allen had figured wouldn't be so often. He completely expected the Palace to run like a well-oiled machine, with minimal work on his part.

It began with a meeting with the budgeting advisor. It was the end of the month with the first of the next one fast approaching, which meant that Allen had to finalize and approve of the expected spending budget for the upcoming month.
