"Angel!" Robbie walked up to the guard as brusquely as he could get away with without Scott scolding him. They were in their white uniform once more, hair tied back and stoic expression ever present. Even so their lips twitched as Robbie approached, and he knew they'd missed him too, even if they'd never say it aloud. He stopped in front of them, hands twitching to pull them into a hug, but it wouldn't be appropriate.

He settled for smiling at them instead, "Are you excited to get paid to hang out with me all day again?"

"I'm getting paid to guard you, ma'am."

"Same thing," He huffed, waving his hand dismissively, "I'm sure that however much you're getting paid isn't nearly enough. Did King Scott give you a raise for getting shot in the stomach for me?"

Angel seemed taken aback, "Ma'am-"

"I did, in fact." Scott butt in, having caught up. Allen had gotten an early start that morning, Robbie vaguely remembered the Alpha waking him up, placing a kiss on his forehead and saying something about training before Robbie had turned over and fell unconscious again. "Though maybe I should give them another raise for having to deal with you asking invasive questions all day."

"I'm a delight to be around," Robbie threw the King a glare, "Don't you think so Angel?"

"Of course, Lady Robbie." There was definitely a hint of a smile on their face now.

"They're only saying that because I'm paying them." Scott smiled at his dramatic pout, taking his wrist to pull him into a quick kiss, "I have to go prepare for a meeting, but don't forget about the fitting we have after your lessons, okay? Have a good day, sweetheart."

Once the King was out of earshot Angel spoke again, "I was told that you have been skipping your lessons."

"Who told you?" Robbie asked.

Angel shrugged, apparently unwilling to answer, "His Majesty would be disappointed if he knew."

"Well, you won't be the one to tell him," He huffed, turning to head toward the opposite direction of the library, where he was supposed to be meeting the royal tutor in fifteen minutes. He wondered if the old bat even bothered showing up herself, or if she just sat through his lesson times as she was obligated to before leaving. He wasn't really interested in finding out, even if he did miss the library terribly. He hadn't been in a couple weeks.

Angel's footsteps followed after him, "I will not pry if you don't wish me too, ma'am."

"Thank goddess for that. The other guards were so nosy, Angel."

"So what do you think of Vincent, Angel?" He asked, taking a bite of his apple. He was sprawled across a grassy area of the gardens, this particular area kept clear of plants, the manicured grass soft and well kept, clearly meant for picnics and other such activities. The sky was overcast, though it hadn't rained yet, making it easy to lay without the shade of a tree.

Robbie lazily turned his head to look at his guard, eyeing the way their back stiffened, posture going from lax to rigid. They don't turn to look at Robbie from their post, having declined Robbie's earlier offer to sit beside him. "Lord Vincent has been a subject of the Palace for many summers. It's always a pleasure when he comes to visit."

"A pleasure," He echoed slowly, emphasizing Angel's choice of words. It's interesting to see how their hands clench, just for a moment before unclenching. Even their scent remained neutral from what Robbie can tell in such an open space. It was fun to watch them. Even Allen, who Robbie was well aware of his affections towards him, would inevitably get annoyed by his intrusive questioning, scent spiking involuntarily. The mint would become overpowering, like the crash of a wave against the shoreline, before receding just as quickly, mellowing out before he could begin to process it. It was an Alpha thing, something he was pretty sure was taught in schools, a forewarning of an Alpha's short fuse. Yet, despite their clear annoyance of Robbie's probing nature, they remained as composed as ever, "Vincent is so nice, though maybe I should have expected such a polite Alpha being related to His Majesty."
