"Come on" the brunette said as he charged on ahead. He stepped into the enclosed rink and clutched to the sides. Excitement tingled through him and an honest smile formed on his face. It was so genuine, so soft, it made iwaizumi's heart flutter a little. 'He's looks nice happy' he thought. The corners of his mouth lifted up at the sight.
They slowly began to move, still clinging to the side like a new born baby to its mother. After 10minutes they decided to both let go. The glistening ice beneath the blade under their feet made them feel as though they were floating. They began to build momentum as they skated. Oikawa's right foot collided with his left sending him tumbling to the ground.
He lied there with his soft hair coating the brisk ice. It felt as though he had been sent to Antarctica during a hot summers day. The luminaries lights beamed down on his slack body. He opened his chocolate coloured eyes to be greeted with Iwaizumi smirking and laughing whilst continuing to skate around him like a lion circling its prey.
"If you can't skate you should have just said so." He sneered through a confident laugh.
Oikawa tried to shrug it off as he began to sit and brush off the small flakes of ice dusting his body. A moment later iwaizumi was lying on top of him heavily. He had fell over as well. Their noses grazed against each other as they stared deeply into each other eyes. 1 second passed. Two seconds passed. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7 seconds. Their breathing was in sink before Oikawa finally pushed him off him and stood up. "Iwaizumi, if you can't skate you should have just said so." He mimicked through a sneer. Iwaizumi sat up glaring at him knowing he was not going to let it go. The setter offered his hand to him in which he accepted. As they began to skate again, this time at a much slower pace, all Oikawa's thoughts and problems temporarily faded away.
Even as they returned the skates and began to to head towards an empty table Oikawa still teased Iwaizumi. They sat down at a small table. Oikawa's mind began to race with thoughts again, no longer distracted by the skating. They had to wait for their food to arrive and Oikawa's leg was bouncing up and down until he felt the presence of a warm hand on his thigh. He jumped in shock and looked up towards his friend. The dark haired teen began to stroke soft patterns with his calloused thumb. A small smile traced upon their faces. The heat spread through his leg bringing him warmth and comfort as he rested his head on his Iwaizumi's strong shoulder. The sounds of chatter faded and he began to focus on the thumb caressing his leg and the distant music from the speakers. They sat there like that for 5minutes. Iwaizumi turned his head and began to speak.
"Do you want to go somewhere during our next vacation for a couple days or something?" He said clearing his throat.
"Sure, where too?" The setter whispered loudly as he lifted his head up.
"I don't know yet, but not anywhere close to here."
"Yeh, the team probably would need a break from here." Iwaizumi's face faltered for a movement. He originally meant just them as a way to help clear Oikawa's mind. His face returned to usual as the young man continued to speak. "Though we would need to check with our parents, and save up enough money."
"Yeh, we have time though, to plan it all through. Plus we're all 18 or almost 18 if we keep it with just the 3rd years. They will most likely say yes."
The waiter arrived And handed them their food. "Thank you"
"Thanks"
