"Iwa-chan?" Oikawa called calmly from the other side of the street. The night sky engulfed them.

"What are you doing here Shittykawa?" Iwaizumi asked as he lifted the black sacks into the bins and began to wheel them closer to the pathway. Goosebumps coated his exposed arms. Cool winds rushed across the path causing the hair on their arms to stick up. It was cold enough to send shivers down their spines. Their eyes locked for a moment. Never breaking the gaze, Oikawa began to make his way towards him. Neither of them blinked. Their faces were only inches apart and they could feel the warm of each others breath on their faces. They snapped out of it but Oikawa felt as though his body had been struck by lightning. Butterflies.

"Uhhhh... Azumi broke up with me. We're still friends though and it was a mutual decision. I just didn't want to be alone right now and your house was on my way back so I thought I would stop by." Oikawa bit his lip gently as his eyes sunk to the ground below.

"Are you okay? Do you need to talk about it? I think it was for the best and I'm proud of you. My parents are home right now-"

"It's fine you can stay at mine if you want. And maybe in a bit when we're inside not freezing our asses off." A soft chuckle escaped and his eyes moved from the ground back to his friend's. He wouldn't admit it but Oikawa's laugh was like music to his ears. He felt weak whenever he heard it. Especially since the incident, whenever he hears it he thinks of how grateful he is that Oikawa is alive. That he can listen to his laugh. It truly was beautiful along with his charming smile. He couldn't help but think that the man in front of him was perfect. Sure he had his flaws, problems and would sometimes annoy the shit out of him, but he loved them just as much as he loved his good parts.

Iwaizumi got what he needed and they walked to Oikawa's house. They changed into comfy clothes. Oikawa in a red long sleeved shirt and blue plaid pyjamas and Iwaizumi in a maroon t shirt and grey sweatpants. They ate their ramen in silence as the perks of being a wallflower played on the tv. The boys were sat either end of the couch. Finally when the movie was over they moved to the kitchen to make hot chocolate. As the kettle boiled, the silence between them grew louder. Iwaizumi broke it.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Oikawa told him what had happened. "How did it make you feel?"

"I don't really know. Don't get me wrong, I loved her." Iwaizumi's heart stung a little. "But I don't think we were meant to be and if I'm being honest I'm quite relieved. I kept getting stressed because I couldn't give her what she wanted without sacrificing what I wanted to an extent." The kettle had finished and they poured the water into their mugs before heading back to the sofa. "I'm scared though too, I don't want to be alone and maybe the real reason is because I wasn't good enough. I mean I know I wasn't I was a shit boyfriend who couldn't meet her needs and prioritised myself. I am aware of that. But what if that means I am not good enough as a person to date and I won't ever find success or anybody."

"That won't happen, I'm not going to leave your side and neither are any of your other friends. And look how many girls want you, it's not going to happen and you know it this is just a minor step back but it doesn't make you a bad person. You're enough Tooru. You're incredible." His voice was calm and he took the taller mans hand into his own before squeezing it gently. "I promise." Oikawa smiled; the red on his cheeks not going unnoticed by the other. After that they put on a horror movie. Oikawa lied with his head on Iwaizumi's chest, they were both under the blanket. Hearts fluttering by the closeness more than usual. Iwaizumi suspected there was more to the breakup than Oikawa was leading on, he noticed the hesitation and pauses as he recalled the breakup but he wasn't going to push. Oikawa couldn't stop thinking about what she had said and what she could mean so he refrained from telling Iwaizmi about it. Oikawa jumped in fear nuzzling his head further into Iwaizmi who simply looked down at him and let out a breathy laugh. He loved watching horror movies with Oikawa because he was terrified of them. His strong arms wrapped around the setter's body. They fell asleep in that position and woke to the sound of Clattering in the kitchen. They got up to observe the noise to find his mom cooking them breakfast, a large smile on her face.

"Good morning boys, I'm going out tonight to a work party and I was up early but I finsihed getting ready sooner than expected so I thought I'd make you both breakfast." A yawn escaped Oikawa's mouth and his eyes dulled.

"I'm going to the bathroom." He didn't see his mom much. When he did someone else was there, then she prioritised them. Captured to their needs rather than his own. It hurt at first but he's numb too it now. Though he couldn't help but ponder on what it would be like if she treated him all the time like he does them.

"Yahoo" he aid jumping around the corner in his gym clothes. 'Full of life' Oikawa thought

"You have too much energy in the morning." Iwaizumi commented with a smile as he hit the brunette.

"I'm just ready to train." He smiled and took a seat at the table. Food was served and the weakened continued as usual.

       ______Monday

They had just seen kageyama. To no surprise, he had been asking for advice. Why else. Apparently him and Hinata had gotten into a fight recently. Oikawa refused at first but eventually gave a bit of advice. Though his nephew really didn't have to be so harsh to him. 'Damn brat took a blurry photo aswell' he scoffed before forming a soft smile. He picked up the volleyball and carried on teaching the younger boy the basics of volleyball. He ended up chasing him around the park for 30minutes.

"Takeru" he said laughing as they both collapsed on top of the top of the climbing frame.

"Yes?" he was trying to catch his breath.

"When did you get so damn fast" nudging him diligently.

"I've always been fast idiot, you're just getting slower because your old. And also I took up athletics."

"Ouch" he said with his hand on his heart dramatically. He put his other one on his forehead and began to speak in a posh voice. "My dearest nephew, I thought I'd have more time than this, I was holding on for so long. Your words though. Your words made me come to the realisation that I should give into my destiny. I understand now what has to be done, I'm old and my body is decaying: it will give in any moment now anyway. So I love you. Farewell my child" he fell backwards sliding down the slide head first, landing with a big crash at the bottom.

"I'm not your child" he shouted crawling to the top of the slide. He saw Oikawa at the bottom, a big grin stretching across his face and Dirt in his hair as he rose.

"You are now, my sister doesn't want you, I'm adopting you you little shit so be grateful you aren't being chucked onto the streets." Standing up, he shook the dirt off himself.

"Aren't you supposed to be dead?"

"I'm too amazing for that. Clearly the world wants me alive, you all need me and my outstanding beauty." He retorted and pulled his nephew down the slide. After he dropped Takeru home with his sister he decided to go for a run.

It was dark. The cold air enveloped the clothes hugging his body. Sweat dripping like rain. It's been 3hours. It was 11:02pm. He walked into a corner shop near by bought a drink and an apple. He sat on a bench for 20minutes listening to music through his headphones. The radiant lights go the buildings Were a beautiful contrast to to the clear dark sky. He began to make his way home till he heard the sound of a familiar voice. That's when he saw them. His childhood best friend with was with someone though he couldn't identify who they were. He began to jog towards them but before he got there their lips connected. He watched them for a minute before taking a picture and continuing home. Oikawa smirked as he muttered under his breath "little fucker when were you going to tell me." A slight ache shot through him but he quickly dismissed it. When he got home he message Iwaizmi but receive no reply. He couldn't stop thinking about what he saw all night.
