Clarissa's POV

My move to the palace was quick. The palace workers quickly fixed me up in the warrior building but because of my position, I was given a big nice room. It was an upgrade from the room I was in before and thankfully, I don't have to share my room with anyone anymore.

Life in the Palace is strictly noble than the life outside in the pack. The life in the pack is your regular life where you work to get everything done and live and talk like a normal werewolf beast would, but in the palace, you're served everything you need from food to clothes and everything is provided for by the workers. There are also rules about behaviour and speech inside the castle and I was given a detailed lecture on it just the day after my arrival. What relieved me the most was that the workers working here are not Omegas. They are normal wolves which is astonishing. Normally, these types of work are handled by Omegas but it looks like this pack operates differently like very few others.

The next day, the official who met me the other day came to my room to welcome me. His name is Frederick Brown

"Congratulations, Ms. Riley." He smiled brightly as we exchanged a handshake.

"Thank you, Mr. Brown. It's an honour to be here." I said blankly but he was too excited to bother about my dull expressions.

"I hope you can continue to surprise us with your marvellous skills and strategies. I'm looking forward to working with you!" Even his voice could hardly contain his enthusiasm.

For the time being, I have been here, I understood that the people here are bigger conspirers than me. On the surface, it might look like he is genuinely happy for me, but I know he is doing this for his own gain. If I prove to be successful it will increase his reputation and position. Everyone is here for their own gains. They don't really care about the pack. They are as tainted as those eroded species of humans. No wonder the Moon Goddess wanted someone to come here and help them out.

"I will try my best. Please help me out whenever you can." I humbly requested to let him take the upper hand. He is one of those who climb on cloud nine just because they feel they have the most power and are over others so I will gladly let him enjoy this for a short while before I'm completely done with him and then cruelly discard him.

"Of course!" His smile widened.

We talked for several more minutes before someone knocked on the door, "Sir, everyone is here." A feminine voice informed him from outside the door. From the tone, she must be his secretary.

"Oh, yes!" He exclaimed as if he forgot and turned back to me with another grin and said, "I asked the warriors who you'll be working with to meet you. It'll become a lot easier for all of you if you are acquainted with each other."

I expressed my gratitude again, "I can't thank you enough for your help."

"It's nothing." He just dismissed it chuckling and took me to the training grounds. I passed by other training grounds where warriors were training amongst themselves before, I saw a batch of wolves lined up in rows in the ground ahead.

"There they are!" Mr. Brown pointed at the same wolves and I nodded.

He took me towards them and explained, "They are your team from today onwards. You'll work with them and also train them. The total number of wolves under your section is fifty and all of them are already trained but because they will be working on difficult missions, they will need special training. They also have field experience so it won't be too much of a bother."
