Clarissa's POV

After a brief discussion with the warriors, they unanimously decided to use the pack's training pit, now vacant, to engage in friendly challenges. They requested me to remain and evaluate their skills while I awaited the conclusion of the King's ongoing meeting with the Betas, following his earlier meeting with the Alphas.

In the midst of the warriors, that woman warrior from earlier, Diane Walsingham, was also present. She would wave to me all happy and excited whenever she emerged victorious from a match. While lacking physical strength, she compensated with astute awareness of her weakness by employing clever tactics, coupled with keen observation of her opponent's attack patterns.

I remained aloof, but Amin who stood by my side, remarked, "Looks like you've gained a new admirer, My Lady."

Prompted by his observation, I inquired, "You two are roughly about the same age, do you know her well?"

Sensing the gravity in my tone, he swiftly switched to work mode. "I'm afraid I know very little about her. She spent most of her childhood in her grandmother's pack, and upon her return, she became engrossed in shifting and managing the greenhouse."

"Why? Is something wrong?" He asked, curious.

"Investigate her."

It isn't a cause for concern to know herbalism, and I do not sense any malicious intent from her either. Nonetheless, I want to be certain.

As always, Amin responded without any question, "Yes, My Lady."

Diane indeed possesses a natural aptitude for herbs and poison. If she is clean, then I will waste no time in bringing her to my side. Given the ecstatic smiles she keeps sending my way, I don't imagine it will be any difficult.

Returning my attention to the ongoing match, I lazed around with Amin. It was then that a particular Alpha approached us with a beaming smile lighting up his whole face.

"Clarissa!" He called my name from across the grounds and jogged half-way toward us.

I remained indifferent, but everyone turned to look at him and Amin's expression soured. The warriors were somewhat puzzled, glancing at one another trying to discern who this 'Clarissa' was. However, they could tell he was an Alpha, so they greeted him courteously.

Mindlessly accepting everyone's greetings, he drew near. His smile as expansive as a rainbow but as lacklustre as his relationship with Alexandria.

"Clarissa," he repeated, standing uncomfortably close.

"Alpha, please, my name is no longer Clarissa. It's Lilith," I corrected him, taking a step back. He was too close. I have no desire to be near him; he makes me sick!

Neither do I want to be associated with him. Yet, he intentionally approaches me whenever a crowd is present.

The warriors, initially taken aback upon realizing I was the one he was referring to by that name, were now confused and turned their inquisitive gazes to Amin for answers. Feeling pressured by the cluster of eyes fixed on him, he sought refuge by sticking closer to my side.

"Are you training?" he instead asked, dodging my words at the speed of light. He has always been like this – saying what he wants to say and disregarding the other person. A self-centred piece of shit.
