Snowdin was cold and I hated it. I kinda slightly maybe forgot what the icy chill of Snowdin felt like. Or any sort of weather. And I decided flowers don't generate enough body heat to even be somewhat warm. I don't even know how my brother would ever want to come here!

"Are you cold?" Frisk asked. I nodded. She tapped her foot on the ground.

"Uhh. I don't know what I would give you to warm you up..." Frisk admitted.

"Just keep going, I want to get out of this cold," I grumbled. Azzy looked amused at my suffering. Frisk jumped over a big stick, resisting the temptation to walk on it because thats what little kids do with narrow surfaces. But not me because I'm mature. She kept walking towards the gate but paused.

"H u m a n." Obviously Sans said. Frisk decided to nope out of there.

"Yeah, no thanks bye!" She said running off, passed the lamp and sentry station, running into Papyrus.

"HUH? WHO ARE YOU?" Papyrus asked.

"oh, that's the kid," Sans said from behind Papyrus, that little cheater, "didn't i tell you i was going to babysit this week?"

What.

"OH! YOU ARE! DID YOU TELL UNDYNE?"

"nah. just going to take the kid with me on patrol. y'know, might give them career ideas in the future," Sans responded smoothly.

"AHH! WELL HAVE FUN! AND TAKE CARE OF FLOWERY FOR ME!" Papyrus said, walking off with his signature "NYEH HEH HEH!".

Oh shoot, forgot they were "friends". Sans sighed.

"well, kid. you got yourself into a pickle," Sans said. Frisk sighed.

"Yeah, I'll be on my way then! Thanks a lot, funny bone man!" She finger gunned with one hand.

"kid. let's just say... I wasn't lying to Papyrus. You are staying in my sighs." Sans said darkly. Frisk grumbled to herself.

"What's your deal?" Frisk asked.

"hey. i just saved your life, no complaining," Sans told off. Frisk sighed and rolled her eyes.

"Fine, whatever. We should introduce ourselves then. I'm Frisk and this is Flowey. We're best friends!" Frisk grinned. I felt slightly offended I was only a friend but I couldn't blame her.

"ahh, well, i'm sans. sans the skeleton, nice to meet you," Sans said, holding out his hand. Frisk slipped her hand underneath the whoopie cushion. Sans squeezed and it made a noise anyways because Sans doesn't care about what time travellers think.

"huh. no one really saw that one coming... unless... whatever. anyways, that was my bro, papyrus. he doesn't know what a human looks like but he's a human hunting FANATIC! i'll keep you safe. i don't care about really capturing humans," Sans shrugged.

"I have a question," I asked. Something I asked before but I just wanted to see if he actually did it.

"sure," Sans said cooly. Right. Sans and my brother had some sort of... History.

Also, that pun was not intended, idiots.

"Is "The" really your middle name?" I asked. Sans grinned and nodded.

"comic sans the skeleton, at your service. asgore got a kick when i asked if i could change it," Sans said.

That little idiot actually did it. I'm so proud of accidentally getting that idea in his head seventeen years ago.

That's a story for another time though, maybe once I leave I'll tell you.

"Huh. That's pretty C- Flowey what are you laughing at?" Frisk scolded me.

"Ohhh nothing!" I snickered. Asriel knew exactly what I was thinking about.

"anyways, you two need to keep going. you're going to freeze at this rate," Sans said. Frisk nodded.

"I agree! Right?" Frisk asked. I nodded.

"Well, we'll be on our way! Thanks, Sans!" Frisk called out, leaving.

"Phew. That was a close one!" She exclaimed. I nodded.

"We need to keep our distance, as much as possible," Asriel agreed.

"He's probably just hiding behind a tree listening in," I helpfully pointed out. Frisk turned around and looked.

"Ok, Mr. Invasion of Privacy! You can go! I won't hurt a single monster!" Frisk yelled out. But nobody came.

"Well, fine. We'll have to prove our worth then! Let's go talk to Papyrus!" Frisk said. Frisk SAVED and kept walking down. Sans was up ahead with Papyrus.

"SO AS I WAS SAYING ABOUT UNDYNE... WAIT AREN'T YOU SUPPOSED TO BE BABYSITTING?" Papyrus asked. Sans shrugged.

"i figured they could babysit themselves for a bit," Sans said.

"SANS! FINE! I'LL BABYSIT! GEEZ, YOU CAN'T EVEN DO THAT PROPERLY! COME ON, BABY!" Papyrus sighed.

"Actually, I'm ten!" Frisk corrected.

"THEN WHY IS IT CALLED BABYSITTING?" Papyrus asked. Frisk shrugged.

"OH NO! YOU MUST BE COLD! WORRY NOT, NOT-BABY! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, WILL FETCH YOU A COAT!" Papyrus said. Frisk smiled as Papyrus ran off.

"isn't my bro the coolest?" Sans asked. Papyrus came back with one of Sans' old coats.

"HERE! PUT THIS ON!" Papyrus gave it to Frisk before looking down at me apologetically.

"SORRY FLOWERY, THERE WASN'T ONE IN YOUR SIZE," Papyrus said. I couldn't wait until I could get my stupid body back. Or stupid lack of body, either or. I gave a half-hearted shrug.

"It is fine," I mumbled. Papyrus gave me an odd look.

"ANYWHO, SANS GET BACK TO WORK!"

"ok."

"C'MON NOT BABY! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, WILL NOT-BABYSIT YOU! ER... WHAT'S YOUR NAME?"

"Frisk!" Frisk said. Papyrus nodded.

"FRISK. THATS A... GOOD NAME! COME ON, FRISK! NYEH HEH HEH! WE'VE ONLY JUST MET BUT I FEEL LIKE WE'RE GOING TO BE GREAT FRIENDS!" Papyrus said, running off. Sans grinned looking at his brother.

"yeah, thats paps for ya. don't worry about it, he has the same feeling 'bout everyone. you probably should catch up," Sans shrugged. Frisk nodded and ran up.

"...AND A ROYAL GUARD IS SUPPOSED TO BE ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR HUMANS! OH, THERE YOU ARE FRISK, YOU TOOK A WHILE!"

"Sorry! I was talking to your brother!"

"THAT LAZYBONES? SERIOUSLY! I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW HE HAS TIME FOR EVERYTHING! I SWEAR I SEE HIM SLACKING OFF EVERYWHERE. ANYWAYS, WHERE WAS I?"

"You were explaining the role of a Royal Guard?" Frisk said, shrugging.

"AHH RIGHT... ANYWAYS... HAVE YOU SEEN A HUMAN? I FEEL LIKE THIS WEEK IS THE WEEK! I WILL FIND A HUMAN! AND THEN! AND THEN! ...WELL I DON'T KNOW. BUT! DID YOU SEE ONE?" Papyrus asked in stage-whisper.

"Uhhhhhhhhh no?" Frisk lied.

"AHH WELL SINCE YOU'RE OBVIOUSLY EVIDENTLY NOT LYING BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS DON'T DO, I'LL BELIEVE YOU!" Papyrus said, gloved hand on his chest, "RIGHT FLOWEY?"

I nodded, as there wasn't a chance I could say yes without feeling like the scum of the earth.
