Question One: Why Not?

Hotlands was hot. Wow. Amazing. Truly riveting. And now I have nerves. I disapprove of this entire situation.

I seem to be hating on nerves a lot recently. Which is valid. Temperatures suck.

The ground felt dry and yucky and there's basically no other way to explain it. Waterfall felt muddy, Ruins was actually nice, Snowdin was cold. This was dry, and cracky and felt like eating a hundred dry crackers in a row without water.

Now I'm thinking about cheese and crackers. Now I'm thinking about chocolate and cheese. Now I'm somehow even more sad.

Luckily, there's a big building. I like buildings. Asriel did warn me about having to stay in the dirt a lot, but he also said he was fine if everything became his issue so I had no problem with the idea of being inside.

Though inside felt weird too. But at least it was magic weird and not crackers weird. Magic weird was easier to make excuses for.

There was that water cooler again. I still didn't have any witty commentary about it. But now I can consume water.

I used a vine to press the button to spill water. It hit my head. Asriel laughed at me.

"In my defence, that felt really nice and was entirely what I was planning on doing," I insisted. Half of that was right. It did feel nice. It was not intended.

Frisk also stopped and took a drink. Very smart idea.

"I wonder who refills this?" She asked.

"I dunno," I said.

"Gee, thanks. Very helpful," Frisk said.

There was a large building ahead. That's where Mettaton was last time. It was an old building, it existed back when I was alive. There's been some renovations. None of that was my issue because this was going to be very in and out.

"Wait!" Asriel said. Frisk stopped.

"What?"

"I was just thinking. Maybe it would be a good idea. For Chara to lay low here?" Asriel suggested.

Oh.

Oh right. I can see why he would suggest that.

"She would've seen everything on the cameras anyways," I said.

"Oh yeah. Totally. I just don't want you to talk about it. We've already determined talking makes things worse."

Okay, that was fair. I didn't want to talk either.

"Okay, then what? I'm just gonna be alone." Frisk asked.

"No, that won't work either. Because this idea only prevents Chara from talking, not you. I'm the only one here allowed to talk about me. So I have to be there but Chara... Ugh, this is too much thinking," Asriel groaned.

"Oh, is this your first ti-" It was the only correct response.

"Shut up. Not helping," Asriel sighed, "okay, new plan. Nothing is gonna work, we need to fake it 'til we make it. Chara, find somewhere to hide. Behind something. I'll get as far from you as possible to communicate with Frisk. Okay! Okay! Things might be okay!"

Things were very evidently not going to be okay, but Asriel was trying his best, "how well do you know the layout? I think the best idea... Hide behind the garbage can. And if you have to move, dog food bag."

"I barely know the layout due to lack of caring but I can try my best," I said.

"Okay, fine. We'll go first. Then Frisk. So if anything happens, she'll be too distracted looking at Frisk if anything," Asriel said.
