Chapter 2: An ego the size of Alaska
“Keeping your emotions all locked up is something that’s unfair to you. When you clearly know how you feel. You should say it.”
- Taylor Swift
“Hazel, wake up, Hazel…” I tried to wake her up, but she just won’t budge…
Okay so if you’re wondering what’s going on: after we and by we I mean Caydon and I finished watching Death Race, we put in the Prestige. I wound up falling asleep onto Caydon, sort of like when we were little. Lizzie came over and woke up me up, and I got both boys up and mom made us all breakfast then Cam had to go home. Hazel has been asleep all this time, so now we trying to get her up.
“UGH! Seriously Hazel you need to wake the hell up” Lizzie said while throwing her hands up in the air.
“I’ve already tried to wake her up earlier, she won’t budge at all” Caydon said while taking a seat in the recliner and turning on the news.
“How effing long has she been passed out for?” Lizzie asked looking at me with her hands on her hips, that means business.
“Well Cam, Caydon and I all were watching Death Race and the two of them fell asleep before I did. I think that was about 2200 hours, and you woke the 3 of us up at 0900 hours when you got here so, that would be what, umm…. If my math is right, it would about 12 hours because it’s 1000 hours right now.” I say while throwing away our trash from the night before.
“Did someone put a roofie in her drink or something?” Lizzie asks looking at Caydon.
“Hey don’t drag me into this, the girls are the ones who went and got the drinks.” Caydon says turning back to his news.
“True, I have an idea to wake her up.” I say whilst rubbing my hands together.
“Your face is kind of scaring me right now…” Lizzie says backing up towage the door.
I just roll my eyes at her behavior, and turn towage Caydon “Hey Caydon, wanna help me throw Hazel into the pool??”
“You take all the blame.” Caydon says, his eyes never leaving the news. He always intently watches the news every morning. I don’t know why but he does….
“Fine by me, we need to get her up.” This should wake her up.
“Okay” with that he gets up, walks over to where Hazel is passed out onto the couch. He swiftly picks her up and throws her over his shoulder like she weighs nothing. She is still sleeping like a baby, if there was a bombing next door she could sleep right through it.
“Here I got a towel” Lizzie says while we follow them out.
“Good morning sunshine, rise and shine!” We all say and she just starts to stir awake. Just as we say that Caydon throws her into the pool.
“WHAT THE HELL‼” Hazel says swimming over to the edge of the pool.
“You look like you just went through hell and back oh and that’s your wake up call.” Caydon says while laughing. Hazel just flips us all off and swims over to the edge.
“I hate you all” she mutters while I hand her a towel.
“Aww we love you too Haz.” Lizzie says while trying to hold in her laughter.
Okay so I might have forgotten to tell ya’ about our house. It’s like a huge 4 story house. We have an awesome game and theater room down in the basement, with an office to the side. Then on the main level there is a dining room, kitchen, mom and dad’s office, mud room, wash room, 2 bathrooms, and in the kitchen there is a door too our back patio. On the 3rd floor is where all the bedrooms are and on the 4th floor is where the music and art room is. Outback there is an enormous in ground swimming pool, hot tub, a fire pit, outdoor kitchen. Most of it is surrounded by a deck. The way it’s laid out it reminds me of a stage.
