Introduction & Disclaimers

Hello dear readers! This chapter is just so that I can ease you into the story and familiarize you with the concept. I would appreciate it if you could read through it to make sure you're interested in this story.

Concept & Storyline
As you might have read from the description, this is a MLB x Dawson's Creek crossover. If you're not familiar with the show mentioned above, the only thing you should know is that the story revolves around four teenagers, two boys and two girls, who happen to be brought together, under different circumstances each, and go through various situations together. My story is severely based on both the concept and most of the incidents presented in D.C.
Briefly and more specifically about my fanfic, Luka, Marinette, Adrien, and Chloe are the main characters. There's gonna be a lot of drama and a huge development between each character during their years in high school, but as soon as they graduate maturity will stop by to sweep them off their feet.

Time & Place
Two are the questions that need to be answered on this matter: when and where.
When it comes to the when part, I decided to keep the original date-info of Dawson's Creek, since it fits well with the musical references I've included in the story. Hence, during their first year of high school, the year is 1998.
When it comes to where I admittedly did a lot of research. You see, I wanted to keep that little magical detail of water being an essential element in their lives like it is in Dawson's Creek. Water can be mesmerizing and peaceful, but it can also be powerful and destructive. I wanted that to be a part of the story, more like a symbol of what adolescence, life even, feels like. It's a metaphor. Anyway, I got carried away lol let me get back to it. After digging and digging (I learned a lot of things to come up with this, geographically-wise), I decided that the story takes place in a city nestled on a picturesque bend of the Seine, Le Petit Andely. You see, I'm Greek and have never been abroad, so I know very few things when it comes to small towns and cities in other countries. I hope my research won't fail me, however, don't hesitate to correct me if I've misunderstood something about the location of Le Petit Andely.

Characters & Their Personality
I should let you know that every single character has gone through many changes, in comparison to the original MLB universe. Most of them are feistier, bolder, and closer to the general idea of being a teenager nowadays. Of course, many of them change stances as they grow and get more mature.
IMPORTANT BUT ALSO NOT REALLY: Chloe is not a brat in this story, she's nice. Also, please don't hate Marinette for being weird in the beginning, she's gonna cool off eventually, I promise. Joey Potter fans should be alright with her, lol.

Relationships
To be honest, as both a reader and dare I say writer, I'm quite bored of the typical fanfiction of Adrien and Marinette instantly falling in love with each other, Marinette being the originally obsessed girl and Adrien being the super kind, oblivious boy. I wanted to turn the tables, minus the obsessions, plus a more natural slow-burn. I should assure you that Adrienette is gonna get together eventually, but it's going to take time since I want to weave a very specific bond between them before they get together.

When it comes to the so-called secondary ships, I'm SO going to include them. You should be prepared for Adrien x Kagami, Luka x Chloe, Marinette x Nathaniel aaand a couple of others that I wouldn't like to spoil. (Tbh, if you're a fellow DC viewer like myself, you should be able to associate the characters from this story with the ones from the show, so you'll figure out many of the upcoming relationships. If you do so, please don't spoil it in the comments for the other readers.)
