memories
Finally at peace, after the never ending fights-for once I don't feel unsafe. There were no more demons walking on this earth, and although only a selected few of us came back alive-it was sure one devastating scar I'll continue to carry until death.
The petals that fell gracefully from the cherry blossoms was indicating that spring is blooming at its best time. I stood outside under the giant tree holding out my right arm trying to catch one of its delicate petal. For the meantime, my left arm was held by a cast.
Alone in the garden of my house, and just appreciating the silent atmosphere. Everything just seemed extra vibrant today instead of the usual dull contrast I see though my eyes. Maybe it was because of my relief, or the world is rewarding me.
I felt a presence behind me with a smile immediately tugging on my lips.
"We should get going to the meeting, y/n," Giyuu spoke as he stood on the edge of the floorboards. I nodded and walked to where his broad figure stood, admiring his hair from the back as we walked to the designated place.
As promised, I cut his hair like he requested. He sure looked good either way. We walked in silence before I broke it by intertwining our hands together.
"I'm so glad," I smiled widely with Giyuu squeezing my hand softly while I skipped along through the corridors.
"Thank you for coming," the young Kiriya started, "you're the only three pillars left now, and we managed to defeat the demons. Thus, the demon hunters disbands today."
I sat silently while i listened next to Giyuu. I would never thought I'd hear those words. We were no longer hunters, and I'm no longer a pillar. We completed the lifelong mission, and was successful-but at the end at what cost?
Yeh finally exterminating the demons will finally bring peace to the people, but many memories and legends will be nothing but a story now that the demon company is gone. Apart of me wants to cling onto the fact that it's not over yet, but time needs to keep moving. So do I.
"You all did well," I said reassuringly at the three members of the Ubuyashiki while they cried. After our last meeting, a heavy feeling inside of my chest released itself. feeling energized, I had dragged Sanemi and Giyuu to visit Tanjirou, but we crossed paths with Urokodaki. We ended up having tea without Sanemi as there were some business that had to be discussed within our group.
