the following week, i've come to notice that giyu was a bit more opened towards the hashiras. i never took it as a surprising note, but it was sure pretty new to me.

anyways, the pillar training began, and things got a lot busier. usually the pillars often only train their successor, but in this case it was sort of a must. each slayers has to go through different phases of training under each hashiras, specializing in different parties.

they would have to first go through uzui—whom was kind enough to help with the project. he specializes in via hazing and basic stamina training, going to second—mitsuri gives a hellish flexibility training, to muichiro who deals with quick movements. the snake pillar, focuses on sword revision skill, to the wind pillar teaching in the infinite pounding training, and finally the rock pillar working in the muscle reinforcement. and finally to me, y/n kaori myself specializes in tactics and knowledge.

although i believe giyuu would've been better in this, i was placed in this position either way, so i went along with it. it's been a few days and i haven't receive not even one student. it was getting quite boring, but atleast giyuu would come and visit sometimes. he didn't come all the time, probably dealing with his current problems which i understood.

"has anyone arrive yet?" giyuu plays with my hair, still trying his best to adjust in this new relationship.

i shook my head disappointedly, "not even one. i'm hoping at-least zen or any of his friends soon. i'll be looking forward to the trio the most."

"do you want to take a walk back to my place?" the male suggested nervously, "i have pillar training with sanemi."

"yeh sure. i mean there's nothing to do right now i guess why not."

the both of us walked together down the bamboo forest reaching to the water pillar's estate, we both do live next to each other. as we entered his ground, i was surprised to see sanemi seated on the edge of the platform with his head perked up from the white shiba he was petting. his gaze glaring down at the both of us, but i wasn't fazed and neither was giyuu. he was probabaly here for the pillar training.

both the male hashiras stood opposite from each other, as a serious tension rings in the atmosphere. sanemi attacked first as the water pillar blocked the attack professionally, following suit with giyuu using his turn to attack.

as the water pillar summoned another attack, piercing raindrop—both giyuu's and sanemi's sword broke into half.

  what a surprise

"okay, time to fight each other with our fists to the death," sanemi cracked his knuckles and chuckled lowly. apon nearing that, tanjirou popped up from behind the bushes, taking giyuu behind him in defense.

"WAIT A MINUTE YOU CANT JUST GO AND KILL EACH OTHER!!!" tanjirou lectures the higher male, "can't we just have some ohagies?, i'll make enough to fill your tummies."

"that's cute," i muttered, "i'm down for some."

"PERFECT!! WE CAN MAKE MANY DELICIOUS ONE!!"

"are you making fun of me?" sanemi gritted his teeth. tanjirou denied and had explained how he went to his estate and scented out the smell of mochi so he suspected that the hashira must've enjoyed it.

in annoyance, sanemi punched the young male and by the time tanjirou got back into his feet, the wind pillar had already stormed off somewhere else.

"next time i'll sneak some ohagi in my bag," giyuu muttered, "i think we can get along for sure."

"yeh hopefully," i gave a smug look at both of them, "i bet his heart would be beating like a flustered teenager. just don't forget to write him a romantic note. uwuwuwuwuw xoxoxo love, giyuu."

"not funny y/n," giyuu groaned and i let out a small chuckle.

"how are you guy's relationship so far?" tanjirou took apon the subject. sheesh that boy never misses.

"pretty good. we're comfortable from the start so there's not much problem besides giyuu often walking around half naked," i grinned. giyuu let out a flustered statement denying about that.

well it ain't that i didn't like it.

"it's nice," giyuu let out a short reply, his eyes adverted to mine. his loving eyes told it all. our bond was inseparable.

  "attaboy," i blurted out.

just as the three of us were about to get up, a crow had swooped down, repeatedly shouting "emergency summon". knowing immediately that something was seriously wrong, and it was likely back at the lord's place. we wasted no time and dashed through the forest and into the headquarters.

we ran towards the heading of trees, closing to the estate with every step we take.

"come on, we're almost there," i muttered, trying my best to wash any negative thoughts away. before we were able to enter the grounds, the whole palace exploded, and fire erupted from within—immediately destroying it to pieces.

i stopped in horror, taking a few steps back before feeling giyuu's grip on my shoulders. even i can smell the strong scent of burning flesh and the charred wood floating in the air.

"Y/N WAIT!!" giyuu snapped out from his thoughts after i released from his grip, continuing to make my way to the clearing. to my surprised kibutsuji was struggling with the giant spikes that punctured his abdomen.

I stopped once again in my tracks, taking in the sight before me. Oyakata is dead, and it's all because of Muzan. There has to be a reason oyakata did this though.

  "Breath of Thunder, fifth form-"

before any of us were able to strike our attack, the ground disappeared, and a structure like inside maze changed its form. We fell through the boxes, but i tried to hold onto the surface. With the sudden fall and the weight of my body—my sword pierced through the walls, but was saved by giyuu's and tanjirou's grip on my haori.

"t-thanks," i huffed with a smile at the two boys. A sudden demon approached from the behind, but was easily defeated by the blades of both water breath users. "what is this place even?"

giyuu shrugged and gave me an embrace ruffling my hair in the process, "stay close to me."

"i can look after myself," i rolled my eyes and gave him a grin when we broke the hug.

"but seriously," giyuu sternly took my hand to his, "i dont want anything bad happening to you. I want to get out of this with you, both alive."

The eyes in Giyuu's told everything. he meant every word he said, worry clings in every sentence. I let out a sigh and a small nod, "i promise," we linked pinkies before turning to Tanjirou, "you too."

"cmon lets keep moving," giyuu told.
