Popi stopped staring at smirking Sayaad before chuckling.
He asked her about mahr (bride price), Azrah being Azrah asked for only 1 dollar change leaving everyone dumbfounded.
"Azrah uhm, where am i gonna get 1 dollar?",
Sayaad asked nervously as Azrah chuckled.
"Being a billionaire you got no 1 dollar Sayaad?", Azrah teases as everyone laughed.
"She's right," Sayaad's dad agreed.
" Why 1 dollar?", Sayaad whines.
"Without 1 dollar you can't make any amount Sayaad, that's how i want our marriage to work",
"Putting efforts of 1 dollar to more than 1000 dollars," she says smiling.
"Take your time," Azrah smiles as Sayaad groans loudly.
"Zamzam you?",
Dad asks as I look at Azaad as he pleads not to make any weird demands making me giggle.
"I don't need anything dad, the gift he gave me the first time is sufficient",
I say as a frown appears on Azaads face.
"I don't count what happened before",
Azaad says as regret creeps on his face.
"Yes Zamzam, dear besides Mahr is a gift of a bride from her husband, you may have got everything but theres something you wish to get," Noni explains to me as i nod.
"I heard Azaad's got a
melodious voice of recitation, i want him to recite any verse from any Surah,"
I request as Azaad's eyes widens.
"Azaad?", Dad asked as Azaad rubbed his neck nervously.
"It's fine if you___", He cuts me off by starting.
"Au'dhu billahi mina'-shaytwani-r-rajiim," He starts.
YaAllah, the silence overcame us, it was only his heartwarming voice that made my eyes swell with tears.
Mom smiled while shedding some tears maybe because it's been quite long since she heard him reciting.
Everyone was so keen drowning in his beautiful voice after he was done it's as if we are still zoned out.
"MashaAllah SubhanAllah!!"
Men cheered as Azaad blushed as his cheeks turned in crimson red and I, i chuckled at his shyness.
"Here, one dollar", Sayaad came running handling Azrah one dollar with a proud smile.
"I can't wait to show Humaiza",
Safirah squealed in excitement clapping her hands.
"So shall we fix the date?", Noni asks stare at eachother as if they are talking.
