"YOU DIDN'T FIND HER?" Carol whimpered out, her voice weak.

When the herd of walkers passed trough the highway, one of the dead spotted Sophia and she ran into the woods. Rick and Daryl spent the whole day tracking her, but the twelve-year-old was missing.

"Her trail went cold." Rick tried his best to comfort Carol, but failed horribly. "We'll pick it up again first light."

Rick's words made Bonnie exhale a shaky breath. She couldn't imagine what was it going to be like, spending the whole night in woods, alone and scared.

Carol cried out in distress. "You can't leave my daughter out there on her own." She shuffled on her feet.

The group around them, stood and watched.

"Out in the dark's no good. We'd just be tripping over ourselves. More people get lost." Daryl tried to explain.

"But she's twelve, she's can't be out there alone. You didn't find anything?" Carol cried even more.

It hurt like hell Bonnie to see her like that, loosing her only child. Bonnie wrapped her arms around Carol's shoulders, while she shook uncontrollably.

"I know this is hard, but I'm asking you not to panic." Rick knew the damage that his words held, each word just teared at the grieving mother. "We know she was out there."

"And we tracked her for a while." Daryl piped in.

"We have to make this an organized effort. Daryl know the woods better than anybody, I've asked him to oversee this." Rick Grimes was a true leader, Bonnie could tell that from a mile away. She hated playing the 'who's the boss of the group', but maybe this was exactly what they needed. Rick gave them hope and direction.

"I-is that blood?" Suddenly Carol froze in Bonnie's embrace. She pointed to Daryl's jeans, that had fresh blood on them.

Carol broke from Bonnie's hands, her breathing becoming more rapid.

Just before Carol almost passed out, Bonnie grabbed her shoulders and steadied her, looking right into her eyes. "It was probably nothing, right Daryl?"

Her stern eyes found Daryl's and he looked dumbfounded. "He took down a walker." Rick retracted.

"A walker..." Carol exhaled a relieved sigh and melted into Bonnie's side.

"We're going to find Sophia, I promise. She's a smart girl, nothing will happen to her." Bonnie consoled Carol.

"My baby..." Carol weeped in Bonnie's arms.

"Everybody take a weapon." Shane put down the leather satchel of all kinds of knives and machetes down.

It was already the next morning and Bonnie had made up her mind. She was going to help find Sophia. The thought of going in the woods filled with walking dead people scared her, but leaving a little girl there scared her even more.
