The Phone Call

*Jessica's POV*

"So, what are we doing for dinner?" Alex asked on our way back from the studio.

"Do you ever not think about food?" I ask while laughing at her.

"Nope." Alex responds, popping the 'p', which made me laugh even harder.

After I calmed down, Emily answered replied to Alex's question.

"We're having dinner at my fathers house tonight." Emily said.

"Do we have to? I'm too tired." Annemarie whined.

"I know, we all are. But they haven't seen us in like a year." Emily states.

"We're having some time off in a month right before we go on tour. Can't we just have dinner with them then? We have to get up early anyway for a photo shoot and some interviews." Jamie suggests.

We sat there, thinking about it for a moment, before Emily spoke up.

"I guess that's fine. Dad and mom probably didn't even start cooking anyway." Emily says as she takes our her phone.

*Sophia's POV*

"Niall! Can you go set the table." Liam yelled out nervously as Niall obeyed.

"Is dinner almost ready, They should be here anyminute." Liam asked me nervously.

"It's just about done, you can relax." I say to him with a smile.

"Sorry, they've been so busy lately and the boys and I haven't seen them in over a year and I'm just nervous to see them again." Liam admitts.

"Well, don't worry. Everything is going to be okay." I reply.

He was just about to kiss me when his phone ruined the moment by ringing very loudly. He took it out and looked at he caller ID.

"It's Emily." He said before walking away to answer the phone.

I stayed in the kitchen, putting the food into serving dishes.

"LOUIS, ZAYN, AND HARRY  COME IN HERE AND TAKE THESE OUT TO THE TABLE!" I yelled. The three boys came rushing into the kitchen, grabbing the food and brought it out to the table.

About a couple minutes later Liam came back in with this sad look on his face.

"What's wrong?" I asked my husband with concern.

"Nothing, let's just go eat." He says and starts toward the dining room.

"But the girls aren't here yet." I call out to him in confusion.

"They're not coming." Liam says before gathering up our guests.

That's why he's upset. He was so excited to see the girls, and they just bailed on him. I made a mental note to stop by there later and talk to them.

*Harry's POV*

So, our girls ened up not coming tonight. Liam says that Emily told him that they were tired and they would have dinner with us when they have time off next month. Yeah, it hurt a little that they just bailed on us, but I know that they're busy. I don't think Liam understands how busy they are. Or at least I think he forgot how busy they actually are. He hasn't spoken since we sat down for dinner. And I think I saw a tear roll down his cheek a couple of times during dinner, but wiped them away before anyone else could notice. I kind of feel bad for him. He was probably the most excited out of the five of us and then his daughter just calls him up and bails. I would be upset too if I were in his position.

*Emily's POV*

*One Hour Later*

The girls and I were relaxing in the living room while watching some TV. Annemarie, Alex, and Jamie were dozing off, while Jessica and I continued watching some random show. Suddenly I got this weird feeling in my stoamach. I thought I was just hungry, so I just ignored it because I was too lazy to get up. After about a minute, I couldn't stand it any longer, so I got up and grabbed myself an apple from the kitchen. But the feeling was still there when I finished the apple. So I just shook it off and joined the girls in the living room. When I got back into the living room, I noticed that Jessica was on the phone with someone, but I didn't pay much attention to it. I didn't want to eavesdrop or anything. Suddenly the TV turned off seconds later and Jessica was waking Annemarie, Alex, and Jamie up with a panic.

"Hey, I was watching that." I whined.

"Well too bad." Jessica said as she threw a pillow at our three other friends.

"What the heck?"

"What was that for?"

"Can't you see I'm sleeping over here."

"Jessica what's up with you?" I asked with concern.

She's never like this. I suddenly realized that she looks pale, like she's just seen a ghost. And me asking that question suddenly got the others to stop complaining and figure out what's going on.

"Jessica, what's going on? You look like you've just seen a ghost." Annemarie asked, also with concern. Jessica suddenly sat back down on the couch and burst into tears.

"Okay, Jessica you're scaring us. What's going on?" Jamie said in a nervous tone.

"I'm so sorry." Jessica said as she sobbed into her hands

"Sorry about what?" Alex asked as she glanced at us with a look of concern.

"Y-You're father," She choked out before continuing to sob

"Jess, whose father? What's going on?" I asked her with concern.

"Y-you're fa-father, went mi-missing after di-diner and there was a cr-crash and th-they don't know if it was hi-him or not." She managed to choke out, looking at me the whole time.

I slowly sat down on the couch pocessing the words that Jessica just spoke.

"I'm so sorry Emily. I shouldn't have never conviced you to come home after the studio. We should have just went to dinner like you said." Annemarie rambled. I honestly don't blame her. It was my decision to come home in the first place. I'm the one who agreed. The only person there is to blam is me.

"Emily, you there?" Jamie asked me in a soft tone, bringing me back into reality.

I was just about to answere when there was a knock on the door.

"I got it." I mumbled as I stood up.

I honestly didn't know who could be coming by. No one ever does. I mean, our mothers have our address, but they haven't come by since we moved in. Our fathers don't even have our address. So I was  bit surprised at the person standing in front of me when I opened the door.

"Dad?"
