"Todd!"I yelled out shakily.
"Yes?" The blonde boy replied.
"I need you here for a moment!" I then started to hear the creaking of the stairs. I was crying.
"The infantry wants me back... I need to go to Vietnam..." I put the letter down on the coffee table and hugged him tightly.
We almost hugged each other to death while sobbing our eyes out.
"W-when do you leave?" He asked.
"Two days..."
Time skip
"You're so brave..." Todd sighed shakily."Todd I'll be careful..." I chuckled while holding him.
"You say that but you could still die!" The blonde boy yawped (yes I had to).
"Todd don't do this to me..."
The speaker said: "if you are on flight: #### please board now."
"Todd I have to go..." I said and I kissed him.
"NEIL!" The blonde screamed.
"Todd I'll be back in a month!" I said. I kissed him again and swiftly jogged off.
Time skip Todd POV
"Mr. Anderson are you ok?" One of my students asked. "Yes Lily I'm fine..." I replied back."ALL STUDENTS AND TEACHERS ARE TO BE IN THE HALL IN FIVE MINUTES." The booming voice of the principal on the speakers said.
I started walking to the hall meanwhile everyone was running.
Everyone was now in the hall.
"Now Mr. Anderson, your students are brilliant people and with the help of them we have organised this.." I heard the side door creek open and I was drifting off until I heard my favourite sound in my ears.
"CARPE DIEM!" I heard for the first time in months the booming voice of Neil Perry.
"NEIL!" I screamed I flung up from the chair and ran for my life. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. Some of the students wolf whistled. Some of them cried. Some were yelling Carpe Diem. And even some O captain, my captain. Tables were being stood on and it brought back nostalgia.
All the students simultaneously said: "O' Captain, my captain." And followed by Neil was Mr. Keating. We were both crying laughing and pointing. "Did you know about this?" I yelled. "No I had no idea!" Neil yelled back.
Never more to be alone, when the letter said a soldiers comin' home...
