writing cause i'm sad

Dream takes a deep breath as he knocks on the dark brown wooden door. He looks around at the glossy road and bright light from a lamp post as he waits. He shifts onto his other leg and his shoe squeaks from the rain. The door finally opens.

He watches brown eyes light up as they meet his green ones.
"Dream?" the brit questions breathlessly. Dream grins brightly, "George." George furrows his eyebrows, a smile still planted onto his lip, "What are you doing here? The travel ban-" Dream's voice answers like he knows everything, "I took a last minute flight, it's okay. It's gone!"

George takes a step back and holds the door open for Dream. He eyes him up and down, amazed and mesmerized that Dream is really in front of him. George closes the door and turns to face Dream.
"You're here" he whispers, then wraps his arms around Dream's torso. Dream smiles warmly and places his hands on George's head, encasing him.

They sit there in silence for a solid minute, squeezing each other and reveling in the other's embrace.
"I can't believe it's really you" George whispers again. Dream nods, his head placed into the crook of George's neck.
"I can't believe it's you!" Dream exclaims softly. George chuckles and squeezes him tighter.

Dream leans his head up gently and keeps it at the height of George's ear. He takes a deep breath, his chest is filled with warmth and honey. He licks his lips nervously, then gathers all of the courage he can muster and speaks.
"I think I'm in love with you, George" Dream whispers into George's ear.

George freezes. He takes a shaky breath and steps back.
"Get away from me" he spits venom. He glares at Dream and shoves him against the front door.
"Get out!" he screams, pushing Dream again to open the door and shove him out. Dream turns to face the door quickly, ready to plead and ask to talk. The door gets slammed in his face, and Dream can hear the click of the lock. Dream takes a step forward and looks around the now dark neighborhood. He lets out a sob, both because of George and the fact that he's abandoned in London.

Dream blinks spastically, forcing his eyes open to meet the white ceiling. He sits up and places his hands into his blond hair, shielding his head from his surroundings. It was just a nightmare, it wasn't real. That wasn't the real George, and he didn't mean those words. The real George wouldn't say that to him, he'd understand instead.

Dream stands up out of his bed and walks to his bedroom door. He stumbles slightly, banging the wall as he exits. He walks to the bathroom down the hall and doesn't even cringe at the cold tile. He turns on the water, not even caring for the temperature. He covers his face with his hands and groans, then falls forward slightly. He catches himself on the door of the shower-bathtub combo.

He sighs shakily, then lets himself fall slowly. He pushes with his hands and crawls over into the tub. He sits with his knees bent and water pouring down on him, just like the rain in the nightmare. His now soaked clothes make him recall the nightmare even more.

Dream is in deep; he's in love with George. He's terrified of what George will say. He's terrified of loving George. They've been best friends for five years, nothing had happened between them. Nothing is going to happen now, George doesn't like him that way. He never has. Dream covers his head again and sobs, letting the sadness and fear take over.

Sapnap steps out of his room carefully, confused and concerned due to the bang on the wall he heard. He steps cautiously, then freezes when he sees the light of the bathroom. He walks closer quietly, and his eyes widen once the sobs fill his ears.

"Dream?" Sapnap questions, walking into the bathroom. Dream rocks back and forth in the tub, water flowing harshly and mixing with his tears.
"Dream, what happened?" Sapnap asks, his voice laced with concern. He bends down and gets Dream to look at him.
"N-Nightmare" he stutters out, choking on a sob. Sapnap frowns, and reaches for his phone. He types something quickly, then tends back to Dream.

"What was it about?" he presses. Dream squeezes his eyes shut, "George. He l-left me. Didn't want anything to do with me anymore." Sapnap furrows his eyebrows and frowns more, "Now why would George do that? That wasn't real, Clay. You know that, and you know George." Dream attempts to take a deep breath and nods his head gently, "Yeah, but it scared the shit out of me, Sap. I'm so fucking scared." Sapnap cuts the water off and offers out a hand, "I know, Dream, but it's over now. You know that it isn't real, and that George wouldn't do that. It's okay."

Dream takes a full deep breath and smiles softly, "Thanks, Sapnap. I love you, dude." Sapnap fakes disgust, then smiles, "Of course. I love you too, bro." They step out of the bathroom and walk to Dream's room.
"I'll get a towel for these puddles, you need to change" Sapnap states. Dream nods, then closes his bedroom door and changes. Dream's phone goes off as he slides on a new pair of sweatpants. He steps over and sees it's George calling him.

"Why are you awake?" Dream questions immediately. George ignores him, "Sapnap texted me. What happened? Are you okay?" Dream chuckles softly, a soft smile trying to replace the small frown on his lips.
"I had a nightmare. I'm okay, George. Thank you." George takes a shaky breath, "Okay. Do you want to continue sleeping on the phone?" Dream's face breaks out into a bright smile. He gets back under his blankets, "Of course."

Sapnap knocks lightly and walks in with the towel. He freezes seeing Dream on the phone. He notes the bright smile planted on Dream's face as he speaks soft and sweet.
"It's George" Dream mouths to Sapnap, who just nods. He already knew it was George just by the smile and way he talked. He quickly and quietly cleans up the puddles of water in Dream's bedroom then heads back to the door.

"I can't wait to see you too. Same with Sapnap. God, just move in already" Dream laughs softly, wrapping an arm around his torso. Sapnap smiles, eyes and face soft as he listens and watches Dream speak to George. They have such a special bond, how could Dream believe that it would ever break?
