Afraid To Die Alone (Remus Lupin)

It was Saturday and Marley was making her way down the halls of Hogwarts on her way to detention with Lupin. She was in a shit mood as he gave her detention the day she was meant to go to hogsmade with George and on top of that Snape made her clean all the cauldrons with no magic in detention. She absolutely despises the man as he always finds a way to ruin her day.

Could my weekend get any worse

"Ahh Ms Potter take a seat there" he pointed at a chair at the front of the classroom. Marley made her way over to the seat and slumped down into the chair.

"What do you want me to do ?"

"You can organise the book shelves and then help me grade this 3rd year essays"

"Sir yes sir." she said saluting the man trying to suppress a chuckle. The man only looked at her in amusement.

Marley finished organising the book shelves and took a seat in front of Lupin desk and grabbed one of the essays.

"Can I have a quill?"

Lupin handed her the quill his hand brushing against hers for a mere second. Marley felt this shock through her hand and she was pretty sure he felt the same thing but decided to ignore it. As she started grading the essays she was getting quite angry at what some of the 3rd year students were writing in them.

"These answers are stupid, they are acting like werewolves are monsters when they are people who are suffering with a condition they have no control over." Marley said getting angrier by the second.

"Uhhhhhh I can't keep reading these." Marley said standing up dropping her quill.

"Marley calm down it's only an essay."Lupin said not sounding convincing at all to himself or to the girl as he himself looked quite angry.

"So you are just going to let them talk shit about werewolves, they are people too with feelings and they obviously didn't choose to become one so why can't people treat them like everyone else."

"Hey it's ok." Lupin said now standing up making his way over to the girl.

"Wait I thought they weren't meant to learn about them till the end of the year"

"Snape assigned it to them when I was out sick."

Marley thought there was something off about Snape assigning it to the 3rd years as Harry told her about the class with him.

"Of course it was that greasy slime ball" Marley said only now realising how close they were to each other.

Lupin started to smile at the girl at the girls comment.Marley started to smile as well. Only now did she realise how attractive the man was with their close proximity. Marley started to blush as Lupin was staring at her.

Wait when do I blush what has gotten into you Marley

"Well we better get back to correcting those essays." Lupin said clearing his throat.

Marley took a seat a Seat and they spent the rest of the detention in silence stealing glances at each other when the other wasn't looking. She didn't realise the time until she heard someone enter the classroom it was her brother Harry.

"Hazza don't tell me you got a detention too." Marley said starting to smirk at her younger brother.

"Never,  Marley Barley." Marley internally cringed at the name Harry used to annoy her. She stuck up her middle finger at her brother forgetting that Lupin was still there.

"Well Marley Barley your detention here is finished I was actually was needing to talk to Harry here." Marley turned around and glared at her professor who used the name her brother made up when he was younger, she was about murder him before Voldemort got a hand on him.
