Afraid To Die Alone (Remus Lupin)

When Marley walked into the DADA classroom Lupin couldn't help but feel worried for his student as she looked like she got no sleep . She took her usual seat at the front of the class next to Caspian.

"Good morning" Remus bellowed to the class enthusiastically.

"Good Morning professor." the class said in union.

"Today we are going to be trying to cast the patronus charm, now I want you all to think of a happy memory and the incarnation for the spell is Expecto Patronum."

"Expecto Patronum." the seventh year class said after their professor .

They moved the desks to the side of the room and gathered in groups casting the spell. Marley thought of the first time she rode a broom but it wasn't strong enough as it only got wisp of a bright light out of her wand.

"Uhh this is no use I can't do it." Caspian said to his two friends.

"Ya why is it so hard to find a happy memory it's not like I have had a sad life."

"Well just keep trying you aren't meant to get it on your first try. " Max told them.

Remus heard Marley having trouble and went over to help her.

"Need any help Ms Potter."

"No."

"That's not what I heard from the conversation you were just having."

"Well I'm sure I'll get it eventually so you can go help someone who really needs it."

"Stubborn just like her father." Remus muttered under his breath making his way over too another student.

"Alright I think I have it." Caspian told them.

"I bet you 5 galleons I'll get it before you Jones."

"Your on Potter."

"Always up for a challenge."

"I doubt Caspian is much of a challenge for you Marley." Max snorted. 

"True, but at least I'm definitely getting 5 galleons."

Caspian tried the spell a couple of times still not able to get more than a wisp of light from his wand.

"My turn, Expecto Patronum." Marley said after Caspian's failed attempts.

"FUCK, what am I doing wrong." Marley said.

"Ms Potter it's your wand movements that are wrong." Remus said coming up to the trio again after hearing her giving out again.

"Here just let me show you." he said coming up behind Marley.

He placed his hand on top of hers while she held her wand and he guided it too show her the movements. Marley's breath hitched in her throat due to their close proximity.

Why am I sweating he's my professor for Merlins sake

"Now do those exact movements." he said still standing behind her. She could feel his breath on her neck causing a shiver to go down her back.

"Expecto Patronum."

A panther shot out from her wand moving between each student toppling over Percy Weasley as it reached him making the class laugh. Marley stood there in awe of the patronus. This definitely lifted her spirits after the night she had

"Well done Marley." Lupin said to his student clearing his throat staring at the patronus she casted.

"Thanks sir." still a bit flustered after their close proximity.

"How the fuck did you do that." Caspian whispered to her

"I thought of my parents a memory I had of them before they died."

Remus over heard her and wanted to find out what memory she was thinking the curiosity getting the better of him.

"Ms Potter can you stay after class."

"Ok" Marley said sending Caspian and Max a questioning look.

It was after class and Marley waited for the students to fill out of the classroom.

"Ms Potter."

"Professor Lupin what can I help you with."

"I was wondering if you could help me with teaching your brother the patronus charm as I feel he would be more comfortable with you being there."

"Yeah sure I'll help." Marley said smiling at her professor.

"Well that's sorted then you should be off to class before your late and he will be coming on Thursdays after dinner the time you have detention and that was some patronus you did there."

"Noted and thanks sir couldn't do it without your help." she said winking at the professor.

"Ok well you better be off , see you later Marley."

Marley got butterflies in her stomach
again just because he said her name.

He's your professor Marley.

A hot one at that but still your professor

"Bye professor." Marley said her face starting to heat up as she left the classroom.

"What's got you all flustered " Max said as Marley exited the classroom.

"What do you mean I'm not flustered."

"That's not what the blush on your cheeks says."

"Go fuck yourself Maxine."

"You did not just call me Maxine."

"Must be hallucinating, it's probably the reason why you thought I was blushing Maxine." Marley said as she started making her way to class.

"DON'T CALL ME MAXINE BITCH IM NOT AFRAID TO END UP IN AZKABAN FOR MURDER."

"I WAS ONLY JOKING MAX , SOMEONE HELP."Marley shouted as she took of in a sprint down the busy hallway to try get away from an angry Maxine who was getting ready to murder her.
