It was raining. Amelia Shepherd hated the rain. It messed up her clothes, her hair, her makeup.

None of it was in her favor as her favorite book store's door seemed to not be open as the rain poured relentlessly.

A man in a dark suit, with smooth sandy blonde hair and a sharp, precise jawline. His eyes were a light blue, like the color of the sky after a light shower.

The exact opposite of what was happening. He approached the door seeing a slender woman with a short brunette haircut tugging at the door.

"Can I help you?" The man's voice asked. Startling Amelia causing her to whip around in the pouring rain.

"I need to get in there." Amelia gestured to the door.

"I might be able to get you in." The man said with a smirk on his face.

"Really how?" Amelia asked as her eyes went wide.

"I own the store." The man stated as if it was a known fact.

"Oh oh my god." Amelia chuckled awkwardly. She found the man attractive but something about him intimidated her. Almost scared her.

"And I also have a key." The man said pulling out a gold key and turning it in the lock, the doors opening and the smell of fresh, new paper filling Amelia's nostrils.

"Thank you." Amelia smiled gratefully.

"Can I ask what your looking for at 7:30 in the morning?" The suited man asked as he propped up his umbrella in the stand.

"Um I come here a lot. Your neurosurgery text book selection is always rotating and getting new things and I need this book for a case." Amelia said pulling the paper with the title out of her pocket.

The tall man looked at it, analyzing the smudged writing on the flimsy paper.

"Okay. Follow me. May I ask what you do for a living?" The man asked calmly as the two walked the dim lit aisle of the store.

"I'm the chief of neurosurgery at Grey+Sloan Memorial. You?" Amelia answered her fingers carefully skimming the spines of the books as the pair passed them.

"I'm an investor and I own a company." The man answered seeming disinterested all of a sudden.

"I haven't even asked your name. What is it?" Amelia asked now looking the man in the eyes as a familiar heat ran over her body as she looked him face to face.

"Atticus Lincoln." The man gave a nonchalant smile to her as she turned to face the books.

What was happening? Why did she feel that way when she looked at him. She barely knew him.

"Got it." Amelia smiled as she held the large text book in her arms.

"Good." Atticus smiled as his hands went to his pants pockets as they walked to the counter.

"Oh there's no one here to check me out." Amelia said swallowing nervously. She had to stop staring at him. Every time  she did that heat flushed over her body.

"On the house. Because you had to stand in the rain." Atticus smiled as he wrapped the book in brown paper and tying a twine rope around it to secure it.

"Oh thank you. Can I at least pay you back?" Amelia offered.

"Well. I haven't learned your name. Grace me and tell me it." Atticus said leaning onto the counter.

"Amelia. Amelia Shepherd." Amelia said as she unconsciously bit her lower lip.

"Well it was nice to meet you Ms. Shepherd. Enjoy your book." Atticus said as he grabbed the umbrella and locked the door behind them both.

"Oh you're not staying to run the place?" Amelia asked confused.

"I said I owned it, not worked it." Atticus spat make Amelia step back slightly in shock.

"I'll walk you to your car so you don't get more soaked." Atticus said as he held the umbrella over Amelia until she arrived at her car.

"Thank you Atticus. It was nice meeting you." Amelia smiled as she opened her car door placing the book in the passenger seat.

"Pleasure was all mine. Enjoy your book Ms. Shepherd." Atticus said as Amelia shut the door and he could been seen walking to a car.

Not one of the he drove. One he was chauffeured around in presumably.

Amelia reached over to the book to notice he had left a small business card in the tie.

A/N: it's here. i'm so excited for this one, it's similar to "Life Will Out" but it does have some differences that make this one a little easier to follow but more interesting. the title of it is named after the song from Fifty Shades of Grey. Hope you enjoy.
