"So what are we?" Amelia asked as she placed the piece of steak into her mouth.
"What do you mean?" Atticus questioned as he took a sip of his water.
"Are we dating or just having sex?" Amelia asked placing her fork onto the plate.
"Well I haven't truly thought about it." Atticus contemplated as he poured the vinaigrette onto his salad.
"Could you think about it? I mean you have a basic sex dungeon and I go in it but I don't know what we are. Plus I stay here a lot and I don't know." Amelia rambled.
"We can be whatever you want to be. I'm not the best with love and romance but we can be whatever label you want to be." Atticus softly placed his hand over hers on the table.
"So are you my boyfriend or my friend with benefits." Amelia laughed, her dimple showing.
"Most normal people wouldn't exactly call what we do with benefits but I guess we are if we aren't using labels." Atticus teased her.
"You're not helping." Amelia groaned as she cut another piece of steak.
"Fine. I'll help, Amelia Shepherd, will you be my girlfriend?" Atticus said as he took her hands in his.
Amelia looked into his eyes and didn't want to admit it but, her heart kind of melted in that moment. He wasn't open or vulnerable with her.
"Yes." Amelia smiled widely leaning into kiss him.
"Good. I was hoping that would be your answer." Atticus said showing her is baby blues.
"You know your place is kind of boring." Amelia chuckled as she took a sip of her water.
"Well then let's do something interesting."Atticus said putting his plate in the sink.
"Like what?" Amelia laughed.
"Follow me." Atticus took her hand in his.
"Last time we did this we ended up with me cuffed to a wall so." Amelia said as they walked into the bedroom.
"Get your shoes and maybe a jacket." Atticus said as he changed his dress shoes.
Amelia put her jacket and shoes on and followed Atticus to the elevator. Instead of normally heading downstairs to where the cars were, he went up a few floors.
Amelia's eyes widened as she was met with roof and on top sat a helicopter.
"You said you wanted to do something fun since my house was boring." Atticus said as he opened the doors to the helicopter.
"Wow okay. I meant like go see a movie." Amelia said in a stunned tone as she walked closer.
"Join me?" Atticus asked as he held the passenger door open for her to step in.
Amelia stepped into the helicopter and relaxed into the seat. Atticus shut the door and joined her from the pilot side.
He reached across and buckled her seatbelts. Handing her a pair of headphones and himself a pair, he spoke into the microphone but Amelia had no clue what he meant.
With a loud whirring, the helicopter lifted off of the landing pad and into the sky. The sky was illuminated with stars and the moon, the skyline of Seattle met Amelia's eyes.
Atticus smiled to himself for a spilt second as he watched Amelia's curious eyes move 100 miles a moment.
They drifted from the sky to the buildings to the ant like people walking on the street.
"Is this boring?" Atticus' voice said through the headphones causing Amelia to look back at him.
"Not hardly." Amelia laughed looking at his eyes, made brighter by all the lights they passed.
Atticus reached over and took Amelia's hand in his. Amelia smiled to herself as they continued through the sky.
"Do you this often?" Amelia asked in awe as they passed over the space needle.
"No. There was never anyone who I considered special enough to join me up here." Atticus smiled as he watched her eyes grow wide with wonder and desire.
"Does this make me special?" Amelia joked as she looked at him. Running her thumb over the top of his hand.
"More than special." Atticus said as he turned his attention back to the front.
More than special. She liked the sound of that.
