It was here. The day they had finally decided upon. Seattle Coffee Works one of the best spots in downtown Seattle.
Atticus had insisted on letting Amelia ride with his people but Amelia insisted she could drive herself.
Now extremely nervous Amelia wore jeans, some booties and a nice but yet plain top. Not too over dressed for coffee.
As Amelia walked in she saw Atticus sitting at a booth, white shirt and dress pants. The sleeves cuffed. That same heat filled her body once more.
"Hi." Amelia smiled nervously as she sat down.
"Hello Ms. Shepherd." Atticus smiled as he read over the small menu given to him.
"I've never been here. What do you recommend?" Amelia asked trying to avoid eye contact knowing if she did, she would embarrass herself.
"I don't know. I usually make my coffee at home. I've never been here either." Atticus answered calmly, the smoothness in his voice returning.
"Then why did you pick it?" Amelia laughed slightly, bring her lower lip as she read the menu.
"I didn't. My assistant did." Atticus replied emotionless.
"You have an assistant?" Amelia asked now putting down her menu.
"I have about 3 one for work, home and business." Atticus said now placing his menu down to look Amelia in her eyes. Her beautiful blue eyes.
Amelia looked up to find her breath leave her body. Her pupils dilated, her heart racing and a familiar blush taking over her cheeks.
"Hi what can I get you both to begin?" The waiter asked, Amelia thankful to look at something that wouldn't cause her to blush so much.
"Black coffee. No sugar, no creamer and a bagel please." Atticus ordered easily, passing the waiter his menu.
"I'll take a caramel latte. Hot please and a bagel as well." Amelia smiled handing the man her menu.
"So tell me about yourself Ms. Shepherd." Atticus said leaning back into the booth. His hand clasped together on the table.
"What do you want to know about me?" Amelia chuckled softly crossing her legs.
"Whatever you would like to tell me." Atticus said raising his right eyebrow slightly.
"Oh, I grew up in New York. I am the youngest of 5 and I used to live in L.A." Amelia smiled shyly clasping her hands together.
"New York is a beautiful city." Atticus said sipping the steaming coffee.
"How often do you go?" Amelia asked taking a bite of her bagel. Careful to not drop crumbs on her outfit.
"Once a week." Atticus shrugged at he smeared cream cheese onto his bagel before placing a bite in his mouth.
"Wow. Oh my gosh, that must be interesting." Amelia said interested in every word that came out of his mouth.
"It is. You are interesting Ms. Shepherd." Atticus said gesturing his hand towards Amelia.
"I'm sure you are too. Tell me about yourself." Amelia smiled widely trying to hide her blush as she looked him in the eyes again. There was that stupid blush again.
"We don't have enough time today to tell you all about myself. Besides if I did I'm not sure you would be that interested." Atticus chucked quietly finishing the last of his coffee.
"Oh okay." Amelia tried to mask her disappointment. Was he just fucking with her? Just making a joke out of how desperate she was.
"We should get going." Atticus stood up adjusting the dress shirt he was wearing.
"Okay." Amelia said as she slid out the booth and stood up with him.
Amelia and Atticus walked side by side out of the cafe and to their cars. Atticus walked Amelia to her car and when they arrive they stood for a moment.
"This is me. Thank you. I had a really nice time." Amelia smiled as she reached for the door handle.
As Amelia reached for the door handle, Atticus grabbed her hand and intertwined his with it. A look of confusion plastered Amelia's face until she felt his lips lock with hers.
Kissing until they were both to the point of gasping for air, Amelia stumbled onto the door of her car, her arms around his neck, her back meeting the door of her car.
Amelia could feel her fingers unconsciously running through the hair at the nape of his neck as his hands moved down her back to the small of it. But as soon his hands met her butt, it stopped.
Atticus pulled away, letting Amelia take a breath. Him taking one as well. Amelia stood there trying to comb through her hair with her fingers.
"Have a good rest of your day Ms. Shepherd." Atticus winked as he walked to the black Cadillac that pulled up.
"Y-you too." Amelia panted as the heat that flushed over her in the moment was beginning to dwindle down.
Amelia sat in her car for a moment contemplating all of this. What in the actual fuck had just happened.... again?
