"Amy. Your secret rich man friend left some stuff for you." Derek said as Amelia walked through the door from work.
"Okay." Amelia chuckled as she walked over to the black bag that was zipped. When unzipped sat a silver satin dress. It has slight ripples at her chest that were connected to two not particularly thin or thick straps, that made an X across her back.
"Auntie Amy it's really pretty." Zola smiled as she looked at Amelia pull the dress out of the bag.
"It is Zola. It's gorgeous." Amelia smiled as her hands traced the smooth fabric.
"There's more, those gift bags we assume are for you too." Meredith added from the kitchen.
Amelia picked up the black bags and took the tissue paper out. She was met with matching silver heels and in the other bag, a mask.
A grey and silver satin mask with lace lining it and jewels. Amelia held it in her hands, studying it and the satin ties it had.
"What do you do with that Auntie Amy?" Zola asked confused as she stood beside Amelia looking at it.
"I wear it on my eyes, it makes my eyes look prettier." Amelia laughed as she took a glance at it from every angle.
The door bell rang and Meredith walked over. When she opened the door she was met with two men in suits and holding big cases.
"Can I help you?" Meredith asked in a confused tone.
"We're here for Amelia Shepherd. Do we have the correct address?" One of the the men asked.
"That's me." Amelia said as she stepped forward towards the door.
"Great. You can come with us." The other suited man held out his hand for Amelia. Amelia grabbed her purse and dress and the bags Atticus had sent and followed them outside.
Once outside of Meredith and Derek's house she was met with the familiar Cadillac Escalade. Amelia was given the front seat and her things put into the back.
"Hello again Ms. Shepherd." Sergio smiled as he began to back out of the driveway.
When they arrived at a hotel in downtown Seattle, Amelia was lead into a suite and the two men pulled out makeup and tools to do her hair.
After an 1 hour and a half, Amelia had sultry eyes and a red lip, with her short haired curled and sprayed in place.
"Well we let you get dressed. Thank you for your time." The men said as they closed the door.
"Well don't you look absolutely stunning." Atticus' voice said as Amelia saw him leaning in the doorway.
He was dressed in a pressed black suit with a black bow tie. His mask was matte black and sat carefully on his cheeks.
"Thank you." Amelia blushed as she stood up and unzipped the dress.
Amelia went to step into the dress and began to zip the back. Atticus stood behind her in the mirror looking at her.
"Let me." Atticus whispered as his fingers gently pulled the zipper up until it met the top. Amelia felt shivers run down her back as his fingers delicately traced the outline of the straps on her back.
"I need my mask." Amelia said in almost a whisper. She could feel her pulse racing as his gentle hands secured the mask onto her face.
"Let's go shall we?" Atticus asked as he took her hand in his.
-
Amelia walked into the banquet hall with her arm intertwined with Atticus. Her mask was on and she had a grey shawl with small tassels that covered her shoulders.
"There he is." An older woman with dark blonde hair said as she hugged Atticus. She had an emerald green dress on and the man with her's outfit was identical to Atticus.
"Hi Mom." Atticus chuckled lightly as he returned the embrace.
"You must be Amelia." The woman smiled as she held out her hand, her nails perfectly painted into french tips.
"I am." Amelia smiled softly as she shook the woman's hand.
"Excuse my manners. I'm Maureen, I'm Atticus's mother." Maureen smiled kindly as she stepped back.
"Eric. I'm his father. We've heard lots about you." Eric smiled as she shook Amelia's hand too.
"Good things I hope." Amelia smiled.
"Only the best." Maureen gave a reassuring smile.
Amelia sat with the family at a table as soft jazz music played in the background and a man walked out on stage.
"The first item tonight is a getaway to Milan, Italy for 2 donated by Atticus Lincoln of Lincoln Investments and Holdings." The man's strong voice said.
"Anything you want tonight, you get." Atticus told Amelia as he grabbed her hand.
Amelia grabbed the paddle and contemplated her next move. Was it risky, sure? But she went with her gut.
"10,000" Amelia said confidently as she held the paddle up.
"Now we have some competition. Do I hear 11,000?" The man asked with wide eyes.
People kept going, inching up until finally Amelia was determined to win this once and for all.
"15,500." Amelia said as she gave Atticus a smirk.
She felt his hand squeeze hers as the trip for 2 to Milan was rewarded to her.
"Well then, the luxury all expense paid trip for 2 to Milan goes to the lovely lady in silver." The man smiled as his hand gestures to Amelia.
"Join me tonight?" Atticus asked as he wrapped his arm around Amelia.
"To where?" Amelia asked setting the paddle down on the table.
"My house." Atticus said.
"Okay." Amelia smiled as her head leaned on his shoulder.
The money was nice and all but this side of him. Amelia could get used to.
