MIN LEELA// Stray Kids 9th Member

* Grieving *

   (Sorry that this is late guys. This scenario will be pretty sad. I hope you guys will enjoy)!

   Leela was in her dorm getting ready to leave to go to the store when her brother Robert called her. "Hey Robert! What's up?" Leela asked. "Leela. I'm picking you up in a bit. We're going to the vet. Angelina is already there with Terra." Robert said in a monotonous tone. Leela gulped due to nervousness once he said "vet." Something is happening to either Maple or Cocoa.

   "What's happening? Is it Maple or Cocoa?" Leela asked. "It's Maple." Robert answered. "No. Please don't tell me it is what I think it is." Leela said, getting emotional. "I'm afraid so. I'm sorry Leela." Robert said. Leela teared up and eventually hung up the phone. She didn't want the boys to see her like that so she left the dorm and waited outside for Robert.

   Leela sat there and thought about all the memories she had with Maple. It made her extremely emotional knowing that Maple wouldn't be in the world much longer. Robert eventually pulled up in front of Leela. Leela went in the car and sat in the passenger's seat. Robert looked at his younger sister and saw her pained expression and the tears making their way down her face. It killed him to see her like that.

   Robert drove down to the vet's office. A silence was lingering between them. They didn't know what to say nor did they want to speak. They were too hurt to speak. Eventually, the dreaded stop came and they left the car. Leela was not ready to see her dog die. Not at all.

   They went into the room where Maple was and Leela immediately burst into more tears. Angelina, who was tearing up, made her way over and hugged Leela. Leela sobbed so hard. She walked over to Maple, who was laying on the table. Maple weakly put her head up and licked the tears off of her face. This made Leela sob harder and she hugged Maple close. Maple seemed to know what was going on and laid her chin on Leela's shoulder.

   Leela felt all around Maple's body to feel her breathing, knowing it would be the last time she would feel it. Eventually, the vet walked in. Robert, Terra, and Angelina bowed slightly, greeting the vet. Leela couldn't do anything respectful at that moment. She was trying to soak in this moment, knowing it would be the last moment with her.

   "Are you ready for this?" The vet asked, solemnly. Robert, Terra, and Angelina nodded while Leela shook her head. The three of them and the vet let Leela stay where she was, knowing this was hurting her really badly. Maple licked at Leela's cheek again, licking her tears away. Leela hugged Maple close again as the vet inserted the needle into Maple. "You're such a good girl Maple. You're such a good dog. The past 13 years with you have been so amazing. I love you so much. Go cross the rainbow bridge. There will be no more pain for you. Goodbye Maple." Leela whispered. In response, Maple weakly licked Leela's ear, causing her to painfully giggle.

   Maple's breathing then slowed and slowed before eventually, it seized. The vet took her stethoscope and put it on Maple's heart. She looked to Leela and the rest. "She's passed on." The vet said quietly. Robert, Terra, and Angelina began crying while Leela held on to Maple's limp, lifeless body and sobbed loudly. The vet left to give them privacy with Maple. Robert petted Maple and slightly smiled. "You're in a better place now." Robert said. He patted Leela's shoulder as she sobbed. Angelina ran her fingers through Terra's hair to comfort her while staring at Leela and tearing up, knowing how much pain she was in.

   After awhile, Robert drove Leela home to her dorm. Leela walked into her dorm, wiping away her tears. "Hey Leelee." Hyunjin said, while looking at his phone. "Hi." Leela said, quietly. Hyunjin knew something was wrong and looked up. "Baby what happened? What's wrong?" Hyunjin asked hugging Leela. Leela started crying again against his chest. Felix, who came out of the kitchen, looked on in concern. Hyunjin then signaled him to get the others. Felix nodded and left.

   "What's wrong love? What happened?" Jisung asked. "M-My dog Maple d-died." Leela sobbed against Hyunjin's chest. The boys looked at each other sadly and immediately comforted Leela. "I'm so sorry little one." Seungmin said, rubbing her back. "We know you loved her so much Leela. I'm sorry." Chan said. Hyunjin teared up and took Leela's face away from his chest and wiped her tears while she looked up at him.

   "I know how you feel Leela. Before I had Kkami, I had a dog named Kkomi. He was just a little puppy when I rescued him. He was too sick and he unfortunately died. The pain of losing him was too much for me. I gradually accepted it but it still hurts sometimes. I think about him almost all the time. If you ever need to talk to me about Maple, go ahead. I'll always listen to you." Hyunjin said. Leela smiled at him while crying. "Thank you so much Jinnie." Leela said, hugging him again. 

   The boys were there for Leela as she was grieving for her beloved dog. Maple lived a long life despite her breed not being able to live that long. Leela cherished all the moments she spent with her and would go ahead and love Cocoa even more than before. Maple was no longer in pain, which caused Leela to feel a bit reassured about her death. Leela will never forget Maple. Never.
