You don't know why you told him you're going to school knowing you missed a ton of lessons and undone homework(he finally texted you after that night and told you all the homework there was to be done). You hadn't slept, trying to fit in all the work to be done. Usually you'd sleep on it, but you shifted and messed around your bed, unable to sleep. Last night was tiring, but you still can't forget the things you did with him. His face appears on your mind every now and then, smiling at you, imagining him saying encouraging words to you really did get you through the night. You avoid looking at the mirror as you tie your hair up in a high ponytail, tucking in your blouse into your usual skirt, then washing your face once more to look fresher. You remember him saying he has a girl friend named Nobara, and you start to wonder, if she's prettier than you. Shit, obviously she is, you curse under your breath. You force yourself to look into the mirror, biting your tongue. Would he love me like this? You watch, as your eyes travel from the large curves and the bulging stomach, to your big thighs. the same one he's touched. He held me. He didn't call me names or said I was ugly. He didn't complain-
"No one would love an ugly pig like you."
The words strung to your heart for what feels like forever now. no, he was right. You take a good look at your stretch marks, the same butt he stared at yesterday, and you sigh. He'll never fall for me, you mumble, tasting the bitter feeling settling on your tongue. You suck it up immediately, throwing on your 10th black hoodie you own, grabbing your bag and hurry down the stairs. Looks like I'm not eating breakfast again today.
The way to school today has changed, for some reason the same roads you knew then has more details. The Stop signs are a brighter, vibrant red. The traffic light is buzzing a soft noise, and the amber colors are much more dominant than the other usual colors. The people you pas, aren't giving you looks. What's happening? You continue to walk, facing the rising red sun, like it's waving good morning to you. You like mornings like these, being normal. Enjoying life as it is before school. The almost empty streets, people missing buses and running for it anyways because, well, they thought they'd have a chance. That makes you laugh. Today is different from what it has been previously, it feels magical. Or maybe it's last night's coffee kicking in. You check your watch and you just know you're gonna be late. Not like I care, you say to yourself. that's right, nothing's gonna change. Nothing at all. You shuffle your feet, the sinking feeling settling on your chest. Itadori's too good for me, he doesn't deserve it.
Up the stairs you go, staring down the floor, putting your hands in your pockets. When you arrive at the door, you can hear Mr Gojo's voice, talking about synonyms for the hundredth time. Is it too late to turn back now? You slide open the door slowly, drawing in a hopeful breath. The eyes of the people you know, look to you, then back to the front. Mr Gojo's wearing a pair of boring old grey pants and his usual white blouse. "Look who's come back to join us! Not gonna run away again I hope," he claps, his face looking so slappable right now. It's true, nothing has changed. You look for your seat, only to find head pop out of the crowd before you, his eyes shining brightly. He waves hysterically, the largest smile on his face. You have never encountered someone so excited to see you. And someone this alive in the morning. "YOU CAME!" he beams, blooming a bright red. You choke on your breath, unable to smile back. Not now, Itadori. "Yes, I'm here." you say as you drop your bag down and pull out your textbook. Itadori has just a pen on his table, and his textbook, his head resting on his hand, eyes almost closed. Geez, do I look like that everyday? You tap his shoulder with your pencil. He jerks awake, turning to you.
"What page are we at?" you ask.
He glances down to his own textbook, then the board. Once he looks back at you, he goes
