Sleep is overrated...

That's why I'm waking up at 4 am on a Monday to go to practice.

Cole and I haven't talked about what happened on Friday in the pool, and I'm grateful. I don't think I'm ready to talk about it just yet. There's so many unknown feelings and I can't even get my thoughts sorted out with him.

Am I falling? Is he falling? What do my feelings mean? Are we playing 21 questions?

I could ask him but I don't really feel like talking about my feelings this early. I drag myself out of bed and head to the bathroom to get ready.

I'm wearing my black leotard with my pink tights and joggers over cause Mrs. B just loves to make it cold in the studio. She tells us, if you're still cold while dancing, you're not working hard enough.

Making my way  to the stairs  and I hear something. Everyone should be sleeping now and I know my family doesn't wake up this early. Unless they have an early call. Well Mom and Dad, Maddie doesn't get her ass out of bed until the last minute.

I grab a vase that's on a table at the top of the stairs and begin to walk down. I see a light on in the hall leading to the pantry in the kitchen. I walk closer to see the walk in pantry door open. I take a deep breath before I turn around ready to hit the intruder when I see fucking Cole making otemeal in the microwave.

"Cole?" I whisper

"Yeah?" He replies, in a whisper.

"You're an idiot." I tell him, putting the vase down.

"Care to tell me why and why you were holding a vase." He says as he continues to do whatever he's doing.

"Because you scared the shit out of me, I thought someone broke into the house." I tell him sternly.

"Nope, no serial killer, just me."

"What are you even doing up so early?" I question him as I reach over and get a packet of mini muffins looking so good I can't help but eat them. I stand by the door frame and eat them.

He turns to me and says. "I could be asking you the same thing, Peanut. Why is a good girl like you up this early?" He walks closer to me. "Are you having a secret rendezvous with someone?"

"No, I have practice. I thought you would know that by now, you've been living with us for how many weeks?" I raise my eyebrows at him. "Your turn."

At this point he's centimeters away from me and I'm pressed up against the wall. We need to stop putting ourselves in this position.

"I was going out for a run. We're starting basketball practice again. You know how captain gotta be in shape." I forgot Cole was the captain of the basketball team.

"Right basketball."

We stand in silence for a while just looking into each other's eyes when Cole breaks the silence. "So about Friday." Shit I thought to myself. We went 2 days strong without bringing it up.

Before I could even say anything the microwave beeps. I walk out of the pantry to avoid having that conversation and go fill my water bottle and drink my vitamins. Cole followed, grabbing his oatmeal and sitting on the barstool at the island.

My back is towards him while I take my vitamins. While doing so I remember that I just got new pointe shoes, so I have to break them in. I reach into my bag and pull out putting them on the other side of the island that Cole is sitting at.

I grab all my materials needed and I take the end of the shoe and I rip it just enough until I see the nail and just pop it out, break the shank and put some extra strength super glue. Sewing my ribbons in the place I need them to be and repeat the same to the other shoe.
