Four am

chapter thirteen

We managed to sneak back in and avoid any questions being asked about why me and Cole were now just coming in. Or so I thought.

Cole had already sneaked up the stairs into his room.

"Agapiméni, why are you up so early?" I heard my grandma say. It's 6 in the morning and she's already up. Then it hits me. Jetlag. (sweetheart)

"Giagiá!" I try to think of a bullshit lie, the first thing that comes to my mind is. "I couldn't sleep so... I wanted warm milk."

She looks at me up and down and stops at the clothes in my hands then back up to my eyes. "Why are you holding clothes in your hands then?" This woman is so persistent and can't let me get away with anything.

I look down. I'm holding my clothes from the previous day in my hand and I'm still in Cole's sweats and his shirt. He's not getting those back anytime soon. "Oh these, right I also need to do laundry." I said trying to give her my most convincing smile, even though I know she can see right through my bullshit.

"Laundry, for 3 pieces of clothes?"

I fake a yawn and slightly turn towards the stairs."Giagiá, You know all of this talking is really making me sleepy. I think I'm just going to head up and get another hour of sleep." Before she could even reply I quickly kissed her on the cheek and ran up the stairs as quietly as I could. To get to the bathroom before Cole has the chance too, as I need to take a shower badly.

After my much needed shower. I laid out my ripped jeans and a plain green crew neck with my Doc Martens. I still had an hour or so of sleep before I actually had to get up so I plopped myself onto my bed and closed my eyes right away.

"Peanut."

"Zoe"

"Zoelle"

"Zo Zo"

"What!" I snapped, throwing the pillow I was sleeping on at the person yelling at me.

"Cole back away slowly, you're gonna wake the beast." I slowly start to sit up and see Cole and Maddie standing in front of me.

"What do you want?" I asked them.

"We're already like 20 minutes late to school trying to get you out of bed." Cole says.

"You know you should have just left without me."

"Yeah not possible sis, you gotta keep your record clean if you want to keep that fancy title of being the lead." Ugh it's infuriating how right she is.

"Give me 10 I'll be right down."

I go down stairs to see Cole and Maddie arguing about something, so I start walking towards them and into the kitchen.

"What are you two arguing about now?" I interrogated them while they both looked at me and then back to each other.

"Well I was just telling Maddie on how she's catching a ride with us and not with one of her friends as she owes me dunkin. Isn't that right Maddison?" Cole states.

"Right" Maddie dragged out "let's go." Maddie and Cole start walking towards the front door while grabbing their bag.

"Wait, why does Maddie owe you?" I tried to ask them but they didn't reply. Grabbing my keys and bag I run out the door and catch up to them. I make sure that the door is locked and I jump into Coles matte black BMW.

We finally made it to school with 5 minutes to spare to get to homeroom because Cole thought it would be the best idea to buy almost everything on the menu. Whatever Maddie owes Cole for she owes him good.
