My life in the apocalypse

Chapter 16

*roxie's p.o.v.*

We are still walking on the tracks to get to terminus. "Do you think the others will be there?" I ask. "I don't know. It seems like somewhere they would try to get to." Carol says.

We keep walking and see a walker me and Carol look at Tyreese. "I can't" he says. I hand him Judith. "Well you're gonna have to." I say and shoot it with my crossbow. I walk up to it and get the arrow.

I put my crossbow back on my back and take Judith back from Tyreese. "More!" Carol whispers. We run into the woods and hide behind a hill kind of thing. We hear a lot of gun shots and all the walkers head towards terminus.

Once they have all gone we go back on the tracks. "Do you think that was from terminus?" Carol asks. "I do." I say. We keep walking and see a little opening with a shack and and a person in front setting up some fireworks.

"Yeah I knew that chick with the sword was crazy." He says and I gasp because he is talking about Michonne and I know it. "Yeah. I told Gareth I wanted the boys hat when they drain him." He says. He is talking about Carl. And drain? What does that mean?

I walk up to him after I hand Judith to Tyreese. I point my crossbow at him. "We're friends with the chick with the sword and the kid in the hat." I say. "Drop it." I say referring to his little radio thing.

He drops it and turns around. I grab his arm and drag him in the shack. I tie his arms together with something I don't even know what it is.

I see a box and say "Here you can lay Judith in that." Tyreese lays her in it. Carol grabs the bag of fireworks and says "I'm gonna go get them." "I'll go with you." I say. "No. You need to stay here and watch over him." She says pointing to the man. "Ok." I say.

She leaves and I walk over to the box Judith is in. "She got a name?" He asks. I stay quiet. "Hey! I asked you a question." He says. I walk up to him and put a knife to his neck and put my feet on his hands so he can't do anything.

"I don't care if you asked me a question. You need to shut the hell up. One slice and you're dead." I say and walk back over to Judith and put my knife back in its holster.

I turn around to talk to Tyreese but hear Judith crying. I turn back around to pick her up but see that the dude's hands are wrapped around her neck. "Let her go." I say sternly.

"You, the big one. Go outside." He says. We hear walkers banging against the little shack. "One twist man and she's dead!" He says. Tyreese goes outside and the guy lets go of Judith.

I hear banging and see the walls shaking. The guy stands up and looks at the door. I pick Judith up to calm her cries and rock her back and forth. The next thing I know there are no more moans from the walkers and Tyreese barges in and tackles the guy.

"Go outside Roxie." Tyreese says. I listen to him and go outside with Judith in my arms. I start to hear screaming from Tyreese saying "I won't! I won't!"

He walks out and says that the guy is dead. I then see in the distance the whole group coming our way with Carol in front.

Rick and Carl run up to me and Rick takes Judith. I see Sasha hug Tyreese and the next thing I know I'm tackled by a hug from Carl. I instantly hug back and start crying happy tears on his shoulder. We pull apart and he puts his hands on my waist and I put mine around his neck.

We both lean in and kiss. It was full of passion and love and every time we kiss I still feel fireworks going off. I smile and we pull apart. The kiss lasted about 10 seconds.

I feel someone tap my shoulder and I turn around. I see my dad and hug him. I cry even more happy tears and squeeze the life out of him.

"Come on we need to go." Rick says still hugging Judith. I let go of my dad. "I missed you." I say while wiping my tears away. "I missed you too Roxie. I love you." My dad says. "I love you too." I say.

I turn back around to see carl smiling at me. I smile back and we start walking the opposite way from terminus on the tracks.

Rick hands Judith to Carl and Carl kisses her forehead. I smile at them. He is such a good big brother. He holds Judith with one hand and takes my hand with the other. I hold his hand back and kiss his cheek. He blushes and looks at me.

"I love you." He says. "I love you too." I say. We keep walking and turn into the woods. It looks like we won't have a safe haven or a place to call home for a while. But I don't care. As long as I have this group, which I now call my family, my dad, and my one true love, I'll be good.
