Chapter 26

PREVIOUSLY ON: MY LIFE IN THE APOCALYPSE:

I feel the bed dip beside me and arms wrap around me. I cuddle into them. "Hey babe." He says. But that's not Carl's voice. I squirm out of the person's grip to see......

*current time*
*roxie's p.o.v.*

........Josiah. I jump out of the bed. "What that hell are you doing?!" I yell at him. "I just want to spend time with my favorite girl." Josiah says.

He get out of bed and walks towards me. With every step he takes I take a step back until I hit the wall. He pins me against the wall and tries to kiss my neck. Right then I remember something my dad told me to do if a boy ever tries to hurt me.

I kick him where the sun doesn't shine and when he bends over I quickly knee him in the nose. He falls on the floor in pain.

Carl walks in and sees Josiah on the floor. "What the hell happened in here?!" He says. "When you left I laid down in the bed and he got in and put his arms around me. I thought it was you so I cuddled into them. He said something and I knew it wasn't you so I got out. He tried to kiss my neck but then I kicked him in the you know where and kneed him in the nose." I explain.

"Remind me to never get in a physical fight with you." He says. I nod and look down at Josiah. "Well I think you handled that well so I'll just get rid of him." He says and drags him out of the room. I get back in bed and close my eyes.

I feel the bed dip beside me again. I quickly look at the person to see Carl. I smile at him and lay back down. He wraps his arms around me and I cuddle into them. I smile and close my eyes once again and this time I fall into a peaceful sleep.

*in the morning*

When I wake up Carl's arms are still wrapped around me. I try to get out of them but he only tightens his grip. I chuckle and wake him up.

"Carl." I say and he wakes up. "Yeah, babe?" He says in his morning voice. To be honest it sounds really sexy.

"We need to get up." I say. He nods and we both get out of bed. We walk downstairs and I see Rick standing by the kitchen.

"Hey, you guys are going to Ron's house today." He says. I nod to tired to ask who this Ron person is.

"When are we leaving to go to his house?" I ask. "In about 15 minutes." He says. I nod and run upstairs and quickly brush my hair. I walk downstairs and see Carl talking to Rick.

"You ready?" Carl asks me once he noticed me. I bad and we walk to Ron's house. When we get there we go to his room. I see Enid sitting on the bed. She sees me and gets up. We high five and sit on the bed. Ron, Carl, and some other guy walk downstairs.

"Is that your ex?" Enid asks me. "Well we got back together. But yes he is my boyfriend." I say with a laugh. She laughs too. "For some reason I knew that you guys would get back together and I barely know you." She says.

I laugh. "Well, do you want to see what they are doing down there?" I ask. "Sure!" She says and we go downstairs. Right when we get near the bottom step I hear them talking. I stop Enid and she knew exactly what we were doing.

We stayed quiet. Suddenly I heard someone say my name.

"Dude, Roxie is hot as hell." Ron says. "Yeah dude, I'm thinking about asking her out." The other guy says. I still don't know his name.

I look over at Enid to see her about to bust out laughing. "Um guys, Roxie is my girlfriend." Carl says. "Are you serious dude?" Ron asks. "Yeah." Carl says.

I take that as an opportunity to walk out. Enid is behind me but she seams to have calmed herself. She looks at Carl and winks. He blushes and looks down.

Wait. Did that just happen? I'm probably just seeing things. There is a knock at the door. Ron goes to open it and I see my dad. "Hey you guys need to get home." He says. "Ok." I say.

As we are walking out the door I see Enid give Carl a hug and he hugs her back. My dad looks at me confused but I'm just confused as him.

We get home and I walk to my room. It's pretty late now so I get in bed. I hear a window open in Carl's room and I hear voices.

I go to his room and his door is already open. I walk in to see Enid and Carl kissing. I gasp and they stop. Enid looks at me and gives an evil grin. Carl looks at me surprised.

I start crying and run to my dad's room. He is sitting on his bed fixing a broken arrow. He sees me crying and instantly gets up and hugs me. He asked me what was wrong and I tell him.

He lets go of me and marches to Carl's room. I follow him and he starts screaming at Carl. Rick soon walks in and asks what was going on. I tell him and he looks at his son. "Come here." He says. When Carl gets to him. He says, "Did you do that?" Carl nods and I start to cry more.

Rick looks at him in disappointment. He then looks at me. "I'm sorry Roxie, apparently my son doesn't know how go treat a lady or to be a man." He says and walks out. My dad leaves.

I look at Carl and I'm sure he sees the hurt in my eyes. "I thought you loved me." I say more like a whisper but I know he heard me.

I walk out and go to my room. I lay down on my bed and cry myself to sleep.
