Chapter 34

*Carl's p.o.v.*

Earlier today I went and asked Deanna if Glenn could take me on a run. She said yes. I went and asked Glenn if he could take me.

"Hey kid, what's up?" He asks. "I need you to take me on a run. It's for something special." I say. "Ohhhh. Something special for a special someone. I see. Well let's go." He says with a smile. I smile back and we go back to get all of our stuff that we need for the run. He says goodbye to Maggie and we leave.

We get to the store and I immediately go to the back of the store to look at the jewelry. I see exactly what I'm looking for and it's beautiful. I go up to Glenn and ask him if it looks good enough. I want the best I can get for my princess. He said it was good and we picked up some other stuff that we need.

We go back to Alexandria. I'm so nervous.

*Roxie's p.o.v.*

I wake up and Carl's not beside me. I see a note on the nightstand and pick it up. It says: "Meet me by the pond. Love, Carl." I smile and quickly slip on my shoes. I walk to the pond and see him sitting on the bench beside it.

I sit beside him and he smiles at me. I smile back. "How old do you think we are?" He asks. "I don't know. Maybe 17 by now." I say trying to think of how many years the apocalypse has been going on.

"Well, Roxie. You know I love you right?" He asks. I nod and he gets down on one knee.

"Roxie Marie Dixon, I have loved you for a very long time. I really can't picture myself without you. Every time I look at you I wonder why you would ever date me. But I love you. So, Roxie Marie Dixon, Will you marry me?" He asks with hope in his eyes.

"Yes!!!!!!" I say with happy tears pouring don my face. He slides the ring on my finger and we kiss a long passionate kiss.

We hear claps and pull apart. My dad walks over to me and gives me a huge hug. "I can't believe my little girl is growing up so much." He says almost on the verge of tears.

I smile at him and hug him back tightly. "I thought you went back out with Aaron!" I say. "Well I came back. Didn't expect to come back to this." He says and chuckles. He then goes to Carl. "I trust you with her life. She is in your hands. But I'm just gonna say that if you hurt her that you will regret it." He says. "Thank you." Carl says.

Rick then comes up to us and congratulates us. "You better treat her right and give her everything she needs." He says to Carl. "And Roxie, if he ever does something wrong, you tell me. I'll set him straight." He says to me with a smile. I smile back.

Soon everyone comes to congratulate us and we give them all hugs and talk. It starts to get dark outside so we all head into our houses.

Rick and dad took Judith to stay at a different house so me and Carl could have this house to ourselves for the night.

Right when we closed the door Carl pushed me against the wall and crashed his lips onto mine. He instantly took dominance. I kiss back and he grabs my legs signaling me to jump.

He carries me up to our room and lays me down on the bed.

And we all know what happened that night. 😏
