Chapter 12

*roxie's p.o.v.*

When I wake up Carl's arms are still wrapped around me. I smile and attempt to get out of bed without him waking up but his grip around me tightens and he pulls me back in the bed. I giggle and snuggle back into him and close my eyes.

I don't go back to sleep but I just sit there with my eyes closed. I hear footsteps coming in the cell and hear a voice say, "Look at them." It's Rick. "Yeah, yeah, I know what you are going to say. That they are adorable and to leave them alone but that is my little girl and I will tell you one thing. If your boy hurts her again in any way we will be burying him." I hear my dad say.

I pretend to wake up and look at them. "Good morning." Rick says. "Morning." My dad says. "Good morning." I say and rub my eyes. Carl wakes up and says. "Morning everyone. Quick question. Why are you guys in here?" "We came to wake you guys up. It's your turn for watch." Rick says. "Okay." Me and carl say at the same time.

They walk out and I get out of bed. Carl gets out and grabs my waist. "Good morning beautiful." He says. "Good morning." I say.

He kisses me and I put my hands around his neck. We pull apart and I say, "I love you." "I love you too." He says. We walk out of our cell and go outside to the guard tour.

We walk inside and get to the top. "Hey what's that over there?" I say. I then see a tank coming towards the prison and start running to go find Rick.

When I find him I say. "The governor. He is outside and he has a tank." He starts running outside and I see Carl come in. "Get a gun and hide outside." He says. "Okay." I say scared out of my mind. "And Roxie?" He says. "Yeah?" I ask. "I love you." He says. "I love you too." I say.

He kisses me and I kiss back. I feel so much passion in that kiss. We pull apart and hug.

I run outside and see dad passing guns out. I walk over to him and he gives me a gun. "Roxie, I love you. Stay safe." He says. "I love you too dad. I will. You stay safe too." I say.

I see Rick talking to the governor and I see him get Hershel and Michonne out of a car. I gasp and go over to Beth and Maggie. I grab Beth's hand and she squeezes it. I squeeze it back and I see the governor pull out Michonne's sword and put it to Hershel's neck.

I gasp and hear Beth and Maggie start to cry. I see him say something and then he swings back and hits Hershel. I see Rick start to shoot and and I pull up my gun and start to shoot too.

I hit one of the governor's men and run back into the prison to pack my stuff. I get inside and hear a boom. The prison shakes and I fall to the ground. I get back up and run to my cell.

I pack food, water, and some extra arrows. I grab my crossbow and then I remember Judith. I run to her crib and pick her up.

I run to the cafeteria and grab another bag and fill it with baby formula, bottles, diapers, and a pacifier. I pick the bag up and sling it over the same shoulder that my other bag is on.

I pick Judith back up and run outside. I see tyreese, Lizzie, and Mika. I run over to them and say, "We need to go." "I know." Tyreese says.

We start running into the woods and I look back and see the prison in ruins.

I just hope that Carl is safe.
