Frustration

Janette's POV.

I hung up the phone and sighed in frustration. I loved Aljaz but it really annoyed me how he wouldn't let me help.

"Hey are you okay?" A girl asked me.

"Yeah yeah I'm fine." I sighed. "Sorry I'm having a bad day, I didn't mean to take it out on you!"

"No that's okay! I overheard your conversation and I just wanted to make sure you were okay."

"Thanks, I'm okay. Sorry what's your name? I've never seen you around campus before.

"Oh I'm Carys. I just moved here from Scotland. This is my first day."

"Nice! I'm Janette! Do you need me to show you were to go?"

"That would be great! Thanks Janette! As long as I'm not bothering you?"

"No of course not! The office is just over here. So what course are you studying?"

"Musical theatre! I really want to be an actress and a singer! I'm already a pretty good dancer but my singing and acting isn't great!"

"What kind of dancing do you do?"

"I've done ballroom, Latin, ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and Scottish highland dancing."

"Wow! You've done a lot! Well here's the office, I'll give you my number as well! If you get lost or need someone to sit with at lunch just text me! I'm sure Dianne wouldn't mind you sitting with us!"

"Thanks Janette!! See you around!" Carys said walking away.

"Suppose I better go back to class..." I said to myself walking towards Mr Frasers room.

"Janette where have you been? You're really testing my patience today!" Mr Fraser shouted.

"I was checking in with Aljaz then I showed a new girl to the office! Sir I've already told you today is a bad day! I thought you'd understand that!"

"If today is such a bad day, why did you even bother coming to uni today?" A boy shouted.

"It's none of your business Jake! Leave me alone!!" I shouted back.

"Janette outside now!" Mr Fraser shouted.

"This is pathetic! I'm twenty one and I've been sent out of class like I'm back in primary school!" I thought to myself standing outside the class.

"Janette, can you tell me what's going on with you today? I've never seen you like this! I'm genuinely concerned about you. I know you think I'm being horrible, but I can't do anything about your bad day unless you tell me what's going on."

"Can't you just read the email Mrs Gilbert sent you? I don't really want to talk about it again." I said feeling myself getting upset.

"No Janette I want to hear it from you, you're twenty one! You can talk for yourself."

"Fine. Five years ago, I was kidnapped by Aljaz's Mum and his Dad covered the whole thing up, they went to prison but they escaped last night and I'm really on edge incase they come here looking for me."

"Janette I'm sorry you are going through this, but you have to remember you have very important exams coming up next week, you can't let this get in the way of that."

"I'm trying not to Sir but it's hard. I could've stayed home today but I didn't, I tried to put it at the back of my mind and not worry about it but it's easier said than done!"

"Right what we'll do is if you can stay quiet and not have any more outbursts like you just had in there, we'll forget about this and move on! If not you'll have to spend the rest of the day in Mrs Gilbert's office."

"Fine I'll keep my mouth shut! I'm sorry Sir."

"It's fine, we'll start a fresh tomorrow!"

At lunch time me and Dianne were sitting in the canteen when I saw a group of people surrounding Carys.

"I'll be back in a second Dianne!" I said getting up from my chair and running over to see if she was okay.

"What's going on here? Leave her alone!" I shouted to the group and they all left.

"You okay Carys?" I asked giving her a hug.

"Yeah I'm fine. They were all making fun of me because of my accent." She said starting to cry.

"Don't worry about them, they're all a bunch of idiots! Half of them are on my course! Here come and sit with Dianne and I!"

"Thank you!"

"Dianne this is Carys, she's new here, I met her this morning."

"Hi Carys! What course are you studying?"

"Musical theatre. I really want to be in the acting world."

"Cool! So you must be pretty good then to get accepted here?"

"Well I wouldn't say I'm amazing, my dancing and acting is okay it's my singing that needs a bit of work!" Carys said laughing.

"So when did you move here?"

"Just a couple of days ago, there's no acting opportunities up in Scotland, so I decided to move down here."

"Are you down here by yourself?" I asked.

"Yeah but I'm a big girl, I can look after myself!" What are you guys doing after Uni? I thought we could all go out shopping."

"My boyfriends picking me up. Then we're... Um we're..." I hesitated thinking should I tell her what happened as well.

"You okay Janette? Have I said something I shouldn't have?"

"No Carys it's okay. Janette just has something she needs to do, isn't that right Janette?" Dianne said looking at me.

"I have to tell her..." I whispered.

"What's going on?" Carys asked worryingly.

"To cut a long story short, a long time ago I was kidnapped by my Boyfriends parents and they escaped from prison last night so we're going to go out and look for them!"

"Oh my god!! That's messed up! Why would they do something like that?" Carys shouted.

"Shush! I don't really want the whole uni knowing thanks!!"

"Oops sorry! But why did they do that?"

"Basically they thought I wasn't the right girl for Aljaz and they wanted to get rid of me."

"God that's messed up!"

"Yeah it is a little bit. So I'm sorry but I can't hang out tonight, but maybe tomorrow, we'll see how things are going!"

"Yeah that's fine. Hope you find them!"
