Re-Arrested

Janette's POV.

I did agree with Aljaz, I was happier on holiday, knowing that his Mum and Dad couldn't get to us, I just didn't know how I felt about leaving my parents behind.

"Don't make a decision right now Janette, it's just something to think about."

"Okay, I'm going to go and phone Mrs Gilbert about my Uni work." I said giving him a kiss.

"Janette what did I tell you? You're going to Uni tomorrow whether you like it or not! You are the most hardworking girl I've ever met! I'll be fine here by myself."

"And what happens if you're Mum comes here? I won't let her hurt you again Bucko!"

"She's not going to do that! She wouldn't dare because I'll defend myself this time!"
"Aljaz, you've had stitches! How on earth are you going to be able to defend yourself?"

Before he could answer the house phone rang.

"It must be something serious, that phone never rings." Aljaz said looking at me.

"I'll answer it." I said picking up. "Hello?"

"Good afternoon, is that Miss Manrara?" A voice said.

"Yes... who's this?"

"This is Officer Martin, I am phoning to let you know that we have recently re-arrested Mr Skorjanec, but still haven't found the Mother."

"Oh, that's good! Do you have any idea of where she might be?" I asked.

"We currently have all our available officers out in the town looking for her, we have been asking anyone that's walking past to keep an eye out for anyone who matches her description. Don't worry Janette, we will get her found and you and Aljaz can go back to living a normal life."

"That's great, thank you Officer Martin. I'll pass this information on to Aljaz!"

"Okay, we will keep you updated."

I sighed a sigh of relief and put the phone down.

"Who was that?" Aljaz asked.

"That was Officer Martin, he's taken over from Officer Milner, they have just re-arrested your Dad, but they still haven't found your Mum. He told me that all the available Officers are out looking for her, she's not going to get away that easily babe, they are going to find her! Then we won't have to move away."

"Okay back to our conversation, tomorrow morning, you are going to Uni even if I have to drag you there myself!" Aljaz said laughing and pulling me on top of him.

"Babe be careful! We don't want your stitches bursting!" I squealed.

"I'm fine! Now go and phone Dianne and tell her you'll be at Uni tomorrow as your gorgeous boyfriend is making you go!"

"Well, I wouldn't say gorgeous!" I said teasing him.

"Oh, you're so cheeky!" he said laughing.

I went into the kitchen and picked up my phone and dialled Dianne 's number.

"Hey Janette! How are you and Aljaz?" Dianne said when she answered.

"Hey Dianne! We are okay. We just got a phone call from the police, they have re-arrested his Dad, but they still haven't found his Mum yet, but they are out looking for her so as per my boyfriend's request, I will be at Uni tomorrow!"

"Oh my god yes! I won't be by myself again! You know how much I hate that class and everyone in it, so it was horrible being by myself. And I had no one to sit with at lunchtime."

"Didn't Carys sit with you? I thought she would have sat with you."

"Janette, I'll be honest with you, I did my best to avoid her, I really don't like her, I think she's too out there for my liking."

"Dianne, that's mean! I think she's really nice, I didn't think you had a problem with her when she sat with us on her first day."

"That was because you were there, it wasn't just me and her."

"I think you should get to know her a bit more before you sit and slag her off."

"I'm not slagging her off, I just don't like her!"

"Well don't worry I will be there tomorrow, and I think you should try and get on with Carys, she's a really lovely girl. Will you be on the bus?"

"I thought you would drive, since you had to do it today?"

"No way! You know I hate driving. I don't know why I got my license to be honest, I never use it, I only use it as ID nowadays."

"Ha-ha yeah because you're twenty-one and you still get asked for ID because you're so little!" Dianne said laughing.

"Hey watch it! I don't mind getting asked. I know the workers are just doing their job at the end of the day."

"You keep telling yourself that! Right, I'll see you tomorrow then, hopefully Mr Fraser will be in a better mood than he was the last time you saw him!"

"Oh yeah did he miss me today?"

"Not really he just asked where you were, and I said you had a family emergency."

"Thanks Dianne. I'll see you tomorrow."
