"Sam, you can't hold out hope for Karli. No matter what you saw in her, she's gone. And we cannot allow that she and her acolytes become yet another faction of gods amongst real people. Super Soldiers cannot be allowed to exist."
"Isn't that how gods talk? And if that's how you feel, what about Bucky? Or Joey? Blood isn't always the solution."
Joey came out of the bathroom just as Bucky walked into the room throwing off his jacket. It was refreshing to see him feel comfortable having his metal arm out, he wore a black t-shirt which fit him in all the right places. Joey wore a long sleeved shirt for the first time in a while, Joey had taken a pair of scissors and cut open the back so there was a large open circle at the back where her wings were free. Joey also wore a pair of black leggings, desperately missing her suit. The blonde had left the suit with Pepper and Morgan, not thinking she was going to need it for ages. Yet here she was, on constant missions with no suit to wear. Brilliant.
"Something's not right about Walker." Joey a hundred percent agreed with Bucky. Maybe it was his attitude or the way he stood, cockiness radiated from him even though he hadn't really done anything to be proud of to her anyway. To the United States of America he was now the picture perfect poster boy, and he had medals in Joey didn't know what but he must've done something good to get them. But then again, Walker seemed like someone who could be influenced by people. Like earlier for example, Walker was ready togo apeshit even considering the idea of Sam talking down Karli but then after Lemar suggested it was a good idea, he caved. Maybe they had a bit of a bromance, her thoughts trailed off.
"You don't say." Sam mused from his position at the table. Joey sitting on the adjacent sofa to Zemo, her hair still slightly wet and dripping onto the cushions.
Bucky continued walking to the cabinet opening it, Joey tried hard her best not to look at his muscles, "Well, I know a crazy when I see one. Because I am crazy." Joey snorted lightly and coughed slightly to cover it up, Zemo gave her an odd look.
Sam spoke in agreement, "Can't argue with that."
"Shouldn't have given him the shield." Bucky poured himself a glass of what looked like whiskey or bourbon. Joey sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose in annoyance. As much as she agreed with Bucky, Joey didn't want to think of what could have been if he hadn't given up the shield.
Sam stood up walking around, "I didn't give him the shield."
"Well, Steve definitely didn't." Bucky rose the glass to his lips but didn't have the time to enjoy it as the apartment door was kicked open.
"All right. That's it. Let's go." Fucking hell does he ever stop? Joey thought annoyed as John Walker announced his presence strutting into the room like he owned the place with Steve's shield on his arm, "I'm now ordering you to turn him over."
