"Munchkin, you need to go back. You need to confront him." Cheyenne's mom put an arm around her daughter as she sat on the sofa trying to stem the tears that seemed to continuously fall. Cheyenne had arrived at the door almost a week ago, her eyes bloodshot and her face pale. Collapsing into her arms, Cheyenne told her the whole story.

"But mama, what if he doesn't want me after all this? What if I'm not good enough?" At her admission, another flood of tears spilled down her face. She had watched the bond broken between her own parents and knew what it could look like, what it could feel like. It was devastating and she didn't want to see the same thing happen to her.

Her mom brushed the hair from her daughter's face. "Don't you ever tell me you are not good enough for someone. You are beautiful and smart, but more importantly, you are kind and caring. You have such a big heart that you share with so many people. How could your soulmate not love you?" The pain in her daughter's eyes had shattered her heart, but she knew deep down that things were going to be okay. When Cheyenne had called her previously about Hoseok, it had been nothing but positive things.

Cheyenne sighed then shook her head. "I'm not ready to talk to him yet. I'm... I'm not ready to hear him reject me." Saying the words seemed to make everything worse, more real.

"You don't know he's going to reject you. You don't know that so why assume it?"

Jumping to her feet and pacing back and forth, Cheyenne ran a hand down her face. "But don't you see Mama he already did. He knows I'm his soulmate. He knows I am. I saw him on Saturday as I was leaving the apartment and he barely looked at me. Then he didn't show up to the studio. What does that tell you?"

Leaning back against the sofa, her mom folded her hands in her lap. "It tells me that there is an angry man who just found out his soulmate knew who he was but didn't tell him. It tells me he is feeling hurt and betrayed by both his soulmates and friends who knew but chose to say nothing. It tells me that he cares a lot, not that he doesn't care at all."

Stunned by her mom's words, Cheyenne stopped her pacing and sat back down. Could she be right? Was Hoseok only reacting out of anger? Could it be possible that he still wanted her? Could there really be a chance for them?

Watching the emotions cross her daughter's face, her mom gave her a small smile. "Trust me. It's going to okay. Go back tomorrow and try to talk to him. See what happens. You never know." Changing the subject, her mom hesitated before speaking. "Have you talked to Felix yet? Does he know you're here?"

Cheyenne shook her head. Felix had been her closest friend since they were kids, but when he found his soulmate, Cheyenne ended the friendship. His soulmate didn't like the closeness they shared, so to respect their bond, Cheyenne backed off. Felix had tried calling and texting her, but finally stopped the communication probably after realizing she wouldn't respond.

"Did you hear about what happened with his soulmate?" Knowing her daughter had stopped talking to Felix, Cheyenne's mom knew she wasn't up to date on everything that had happened. "Apparently Irene was seeing someone else behind his back."

At her mom's words, Cheyenne's heart broke for her friend. She had seen how excited Felix was to find his soulmate so to hear the bond was not respected hurt her heart. "No. I haven't spoken to him since I left. I... I was trying to respect his bond with Irene so I didn't want to get in the middle of it." Irene had assumed that Felix and Cheyenne had a romantic relationship and didn't believe Cheyenne when she said she did not have those types of feelings for Felix.

Patting her daughter's shoulder, she gave her a reassuring smile. "You should talk to him. You two have been friends for so long that you don't want to lose the friendship over a silly misunderstanding."
