Ch. 15 - Unexpected Rivalry

Skipping the pleasantries of waking up the next day, Tatsuya walked with Miyuki and Hiro through the halls before being confronted by Ichijou Masaki and Kichijouji Shinkurou. The Crimson Prince and Cardinal George.. with the way Hiro studied Masaki's positioning, he was dead-locked on Miyuki. It was obvious he had fallen for her already. "Go on ahead with Miyuki, Hiro." Tatsuya said as he nodded, "Understood." before they both walked past the two third high students. A gaze was given between him and Masaki, one that was never mistaken to be anything other than a rivalry. As of now, Hiro ran the risk of having the Snow Queen swiped out from his arms and slid into the hands of the Crimson Prince.. and he didn't want that to happen.

As they neared the dressing room, she turned around and smiled before winking at him. "Boooys, aren't allowed in. No peeking." the young girl teased him as he blushed slightly, with her walking into the dressing room. He placed his hands in an at-ease position and stood just adjacent to the door, to the right. Masaki and Shinkurou, better known as George, crossed over him as they walked passed. Just as they turned the corner, Miyuki stepped out of the dressing room in her yukata. "I'm ready, Hiro. Let's head over to brother so he can give me my CAD." He nodded before beginning to walk with her. She smiled at him as he moved forward as they then reached Tatsuya at the entrance to her podium's elevator. Tatsuya looked to Miyuki, which grasped a nod from her as he handed her the phone-like CAD she used.

She took it gracefully as she then bowed to Tatsuya in thanks, then smiling at Hiro. "Good luck, 'snow queen'." He used the term against her, which caused her to be caught off guard and to be flustered as she quickly moved to get onto the podium elevator. "Some new nickname I haven't heard of?" Tatsuya asked as the door closed, "That's one of her nicknames around our school. People have extreme interest in her so- I guess that's a fitting name." He looked up to one of the start indicators, since he was student security and on high alert for first high, he was allowed to be close to the matches. Jumping up wasn't particularly hard for him, as his legs crystallized subconsciously when he did this. The match began fairly quick, with the first action being from Miyuki to reinforce her ice pillars.

Shizuku pulled a secondary CAD out of her sleeve and shot one of her pillars with Phonon Maser. This put a dent in one of Miyuki's ice pillars however, she quickly unleashed Nilfheim, which could create even liquid nitrogen out of nothing. Liquid nitrogen drenched Shizuku's pillars as she then used a fire-type spell, setting the nitrogen off as it exploded Shizuku's ice pillars into pieces. The match was quite quickly rounded off and completed, with Miyuki once again coming out on top. Continuing on was the Monolith Code match, Tatsuya wouldn't be participating but, plenty of first years would be. Hiro entered the arena with a cloak on that marked him as security so that he wouldn't be targeted by the students of either side however, a rumble was heard as he then looked to where he knew the first high students were. A piece of the building had collapsed.

"Intentional interference..?" He said to himself as he jumped building to building before reaching theirs. Hiro launched himself on top of their building and smashed a hole into the roof with his now crystallized arm, granting him entrance. Upon climbing in, he made his way swiftly out of the room and ran down the hall to where the three first high students would be. Entering the room.. wasn't the prettiest sight. Morisaki had a broken leg and a head injury, bleeding and unconscious. The other two had cracked ribs but, he couldn't do much for that, they were also unconscious. He made his way over to Morisaki, applying a hand to his head as crystal formed around where the head trauma would be, a tap then being gave as it cracked and fell off. This left discolored skin however, it quickly regained color as Hiro had just healed it with his spike mage power. 

His arms moved to dig into a wall, separating two parts of it as crystal then formed as support. Hiro formed a slide that would get all three of them out from this hole in the wall, letting them all down and out gently. The medical staff got to them as the building continued to crack more, causing Hiro himself to jump out and let his crystal steam away. He followed them back to the medical ward of the base they were on, and waited for what seemed like an eternity well- until night at least with them. Hiro.. felt pity on them for getting as injured as they did, so he walked over to them while no one was around and placed a hand on each of them once before where they were injured began to glow and fade quickly. This slightly drained him as he then sat back down quickly however- they were now healed. Tatsuya went to look for him thus, was directed to the medical ward as he then walked in and said "Hiro." in his monotone voice.

He looked up and stood up, with Tatsuya asking him, "Are you willing to participate in Monolith Code?" which gained a nod from him. "Why?" Hiro asked, gaining the simple reply from the man, "Mayumi and Juumonji are forcing me to lead Monolith Code.. and you are my first choice for my team." which gained a nod from him. Tatsuya motioned, "Follow me." as they then made their way to their accommodated room. Hiro gave his cloak to one of the adult security members and bowed to them in respect to allowing him to use it to keep himself concealed during the match. Upon entering the room he saw Erika, Mizuki, and Leonhard sitting in the room. 

He took a seat on the second bed himself as he then asked, "Tatsuya- if we're going to be forced into this, can you make some edits to the CAD you gave me?" which gained a nod from him. One case, very similar to the gun-like CAD he did have, was brought up and opened as he pulled out another one. "All I'd need is a hub down here to sap more magical power.. I have an idea for using it." he said as Tatsuya nodded. "It'll be done tomorrow. You already know what you're doing so, you can go back to the room if you want." Hiro nodded as he was indeed tired, especially due to healing the three cocky knuckleheads. Making his way to his room, he saw Miyuki on the way who smiled at him and gave a wave, with her fingers moving in it. This made him sort of blush as he then looked to his door and entered his room, slipping off his shoes and going immediately into his bed. Falling asleep was the easy part, as he was exhausted from using more of the power Maelstrom provided to him.
