California girls are unreliable.

I loved everything about this. The sunshine that fell upon the sand, the crowds of people laughing as they walked the boardwalk; the Faris wheel that held giggling teens, and most of all, the crystal blue ocean that seemed to sparkle just for me.

We all climbed out of the vehicle, and I sighed deeply as the salty breeze entered my nose.

The sun was still hot in the sky, but the temperature had dropped slightly, signifying the evening was fast approaching. As long as the day light remained, we had to have as much fun as possible.

"Beach soccer, here we come " said Jake with loud clap and an eager grin.

"Come on Laur-star, we have so much to teach you."

I laughed at the funny nickname, shooting a quick glance at Ricky to see if he looked as excited as the other guys. He definitely looked tired, but also peaceful. He still looked weirdly sad, though.

I snapped my gaze away, afraid of being caught staring. That was never fun. Especially when I knew he was taken.

I asked instead, overdoing the enthusiasm a bit; "Please tell me they still have that old booth, with the little bean bags you toss in the holes? That game was life!"

"Miniature Cornhole?" Landon said, sounding chipper as well.

I nodded.

"Yeah, they've got it. It's a badass game, huh?"

I nodded again, still grinning from ear to ear.

Slowly, we all made our way down from the parking lot and to the gorgeous beach. The crowds were thinner then they would be on a weekend, but still quite immence.

On the stairs, I attempted to walk beside Ricky, but Landon fell into stride beside me instead.

"So how do you like L.A so far? Ricky told me you just moved here."

"I love it." I gestured to the view before us.

"Obviously, look at this place. It'd only be better if it was some tropical island my rich Aunt lived. Ooh, I should tell her to get a house in Hawaii." I giggled.

He chuckled to. "Hawaii would be nice, but it's only ever Caly for me." He paused, and then said; "Hey, do you want ice cream?"

"Aren't we gonna play soccer?" I asked, tilting my head slightly.

He shrugged, throwing a quick glance at the over excited Jake, who was tossing the soccer ball up in the air and catching it over and over.

"The guys usually take a century to even start. Come on, well hurry. Before Jake sees us."

I nodded, slightly reluctant but not to much so. Landon was sweet, and cute, in a nerdy way. It might be fun, hanging out with him alone.

I shot one last look at Ricky, who still looked borderline exhausted and not as enthusiastic about the aproaching game as his bigger friend.

"Let's. Go then. I want to see as much of the boardwalk as possible."

We rushed off, and onto L.A's finest beach expireince. The boardwalk was brimming with fun, and avtitives. My eyes couldn't stop darting around excitedly.

"Ooh, there's the bean bag game!" I squeeled excitedly at the very game I'd once won three in a row. I'd picked a giant Lolleypop as my prize. It was disgusting, and I'd always regretted not getting a stuffed toy robot instead. I was just too much a sucker for sweets, I guess. Especially giant sweets.
