Warm on the sand, this is my plan.
Lie you down, till you can't stand.

After a heated game of soccer, me and Jake on the winning team, (thanks to him, not me,) it was finally time for me to submerge myself in the glissening ocean.

I anounced my plan, which Landon and Ricky quickly agreed, (Rip didn't want to swim, and Jake apparently was afraid of the ocean. Go figure.)

I removed my sun dress in preperation, and rolled my eyes when Jake whistled.

"Oh shut up." I tossed some sand at him, which resulted in a full on sand war. Landon manged to get himself in the middle of it, and wound up with a hand full of golden specs in his eyes. Jake threw it, so my guilt was minimum, but I still felt bad.

While Landon attempted to clean his eyes with the his freshly removed shirt, I stared impatiently at the sea. The sun was starting to set, casting a golden hue in the horizon. It was beautiful; like a painting.

Suddenly, Ricky was beside me, also shirtless (and very toned at that,) grinning at the view too.

"Let's get in, before there's no sun left at all."

I nodded, and followed his lead, into the chilled waters.

Ricky called back to Landon, to hurry up and join us. He just grunted, still stuck trying to get sand out of his eyes.

I quickly allowed the waves to carry me off, fighting to stay well above the water, floating on my back mostly. Beside me, Ricky swam around.

Some water splashed in my mouth as I flapped my arms too enthusiastically, and I gagged at the salty taste. The only thing I hated about the ocean; the salty water. It beat chlorine, though, so it was still a win.

"It sure is nice out here." I sighed after spitting out the disgusting mouth full. I looked back to the beach, to see the other boys still lounging around, Landon finally seeming better off, though he made no moves to join us yet.

"Yeah." Ricky grinned, his eyes closing with a deep sigh. "Endless..."

I stared at him, unable to stop. He was fun to look at; the way his face relaxed against the cool water; the way his hair stuck to his forehead, and his hands moved outword, keeping him above the waves. He was so cute. Why did he have to have girlfriend? Why couldn't life be fair? The one time I liked a guy this much...

His eyes opened and I quickly averted my intrusive gaze.

"I bet Gabi was sad she couldn't come out." I said quickly, finding that if I talked about Gabi to him, it made me feel less guilty. It also acted as a firm reminder of why I couldn't let myself go there.

He shrugged against the water, a wave carrying him closer to me.

My breath hitched, as his hand accidently brushed against mine. He pushed himself away again quickly.

"No. She doesn't come to the beach very often. She's a bit of a home body." He answered, once he was a safe few feet from me.

I nodded. "Ah, I guess I can see that. She's really sweet though."

He nodded, smiling. "She's amazing. Strongest person I've ever known." That old sadness flew into his eyes, but was gone in an instant.

I sighed again. I repeated to myself; I would not wish to come between that. I would not!

"So what are the others guys stories? How'd your band form?" I asked, wanting to keep him talking for multiple reasons. One, I wanted to get to know him better. For two, it was easier to be distracted from my longing to simply long. For him, I mean. I couldn't do that.
