You know what really grinds my gears?
When the only way authors make the reader insert look good is by putting others down.
Especially random nameless characters specifically created to be put down like the little insignificant speck they are!
Take this story I'll be using as an example.
This random employee character has been created by the author to be an utter trash bag. Let's see how things go.
Alright looks like the author is going with the classic pervert weirdo scenario.
(For the 10th time this story.)
Let's see how the cast reacts.
Blake forgets her punctuation, Y/N states the obvious, and Weiss becomes a Karen....
Top tier writing if I do say so myself.
And Yang counters sexual harassment with death threats which I would find justifiable in this situation if I wasn't constantly rolling my eyes at this situation.
"N-no sir they all are together, they all are big fat liars!"
.......80% sure an alien wrote this.
.....yeah for sure an alien.

Anyway we've finally made it to the part that REALLY fucked me up.So what fucks me up here is the fact that after all of that Y/N is the one being praised.
FOR DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
Even though all he did in that situation was that stupid fucking "That's illegal!" line! The manager starts sucking the inserts cock for doing jackshit!
Yang. The one who took charge of the situation and created a scene which drew the managers attention over to them? More like something that Y/N can stick his dick into.
Ruby. The one who got everything on camera to prove their innocence? Bitch who?
But yo, did you see that Y/N guy standing over there doing nothing? So fucking hot.
And then this piece of shit of an insert has the audacity to say if he had handled the employee he'd send him to the hospital.
Seriously how much of a fucking loser does your protagonist have to be for this to be the only way to make them look good.
