Chapter 16

Deku's memory

I had just tripped, it might've been one of the kids, but I never was one to accuse anyone of anything unless I knew for sure it was them. All the kids walked away except for one, the ash blonde I knew as Katsuki Bakugou or, who I called Kacchan. He watched the other kids leave and once they turned the corner he turned to me and offered me a hand up, which I took with a grateful smile.

I noticed something in his ear, guessing they were his hearing aids I signed to him, 'you ok?'

He nodded, 'my quirk woke me up and was too loud so I can't hear much right now.' He signed back with a slight Shrug, 'could you help me with the assigned work though, I didn't catch a thing the teacher said.' I chuckled a bit at that and nodded, 'want me to come to yours?' I asked him, he nodded before waving, heading back off to his friends.

Later that day I went over to the Bakugou's, my mom having tea with Mrs. Bakugou. I went up to Kacchan's bedroom and seen him sitting on his bed, his homework in front of him. I walked over to his bed and he looked up at me, he waved with a smile at me. I smiled back and he shifted over to make some room for me to sit beside him on the bed.

'What do you need help with?' I signed. 'I don't understand a thing.' He sighed. I chuckled a bit and sat down beside him and began helping him with his work.

We soon finished all his homework and I felt him rest his head on my shoulder, looking down at him I noticed how tired he looked. I slowly reached my hands up to take his hearing aids out and he let me. I put them on his side table before tidying up the homework, putting it on the floor beside the bed, then carefully laying up both down, with Kacchan cuddling closer to me and slowly falling asleep.

I felt myself slowly drifting off to sleep and let it happen, a small smile tugging at my lips to be falling asleep with Kacchan beside me...

Bakugou's P.o.v

Deku opened his eyes, his face going pale like he had just seen a ghost. Tears appeared in his eyes as he opened and closed his mouth a couple of times. He decided not to say anything, or perhaps didn't know what to say and just closed his mouth, inching towards the bed ever so cautiously.

When he was close enough to the bed he hesitantly reached out a shaky hand. I gave a soft smile and reached out my own hand, grabbing his hand and linking our fingers together, "I heard it all, and I love you, too."

Deku closed his eyes, a few tears falling. By our linked hands I pulled him down to sit on my bed and hugged him, "I'm alive nerd, so stop crying will ya." I said softly. He chuckled a bit and wiped his tears away, I pulled away from the hug so I could look at him, knowing he had questions.

Finally, when it seemed he figured out what he wanted to ask, he simply said "why."

"Why what?" I asked.

"Why did Mina tell me you were dead? and how the hell are you alive?"

"I have no idea why Mina said I was dead, my heart only stopped when the hanahaki went away from hearing you, although it kinda hurt." I chuckled a bit, rubbing my neck slightly.

"So... you heard me?" He asked hesitantly. I grinned and pulled him into another hug, "yes I heard you, idiot." He hugged me tightly, "I'll have to talk to Mina about telling you I was dead later." I grumbled, "but I'm still alive, and I'm not going anywhere."

Deku sat on the bed for a bit and talked about how everyone was, I just nodded along silently. Soon a doctor walked into the room to check on me before telling me I could go home. I nodded and the doctor walked out so I could get changed out of the hospital clothes. Deku waited patiently as I got dressed before linking his arms with mine as I tugged my sleeves past my wrist.

We walked out of the room and I kept my head down, "can we just go straight to the dorms? I don't feel like talking to anyone right now." I whispered to Deku, who nodded with a soft smile.

"You hungry?" Deku asked me when we got to the empty dorms. "A little." I nodded. We walked into the dorm kitchen and made some lunch before going into my dorm room to eat it.

"Katsuki?" Deku suddenly asked while we were eating. I looked up from my food. "Will you- will you be my boyfriend?" He asked softly. I smiled at him, "thought you would never ask nerd." I chuckled. 

He chuckled a bit and we continued eating. When we finished eating we moved to sit on my bed and watch some videos on my phone.

Soon enough we heard chatter out in the sitting room, "you don't have to go out right now if you don't want to." Deku said quietly. I shook my head as I sat up, stretching my arms above my head, "no, I still need to talk to Mina and I think Kirishima would like to see me alive." I chuckled. "Alright, just take it easy please," Deku said. I smiled at him softly and leaned down to give him a soft kiss. "alright, now cmon get up."

He got up from the bed and we walked out, hand in hand, into the sitting room where everyone was seated.

I looked around for Kirishima and found him sitting on an armrest, scrolling through his phone. I unlinked mine and Deku's hands and walked over to him from behind, wrapping my arms around him gently.

He froze, dropping his phone as he looked at who's arms were wrapped around him before whipping around and hugging me tightly. He started shaking slightly, "I'm still here, calm down." I said softly as he pulled away whipping at his eyes, "that's just it, you're still here." He chuckled, smiling at me. "Well I'm not going down without a fight, and I still have to become the Number One Hero." I grinned, causing him to laugh.

I noticed Mina with her earbuds in sitting on the couch Kiri was just sitting on the armrest to and leaned over, kissing her cheek. She looked over and when she saw me she jumped up, hugging me, knocking me over in the process.

"Your gonna kill me all over again." I laughed softly, she laughed softly, "I-I know what your gonna say, but before you say it, I said you were dead to him so it would be a surprise because I knew you would pull through." She said quickly, "still, you shouldn't tell people if someones dead, it's not right." I told her and she nodded, getting up, helping me up as well. "Are you two a thing now though?" She asked with a grin.

I laughed, "yes, he's my boyfriend now." I smiled.

For the rest of the night, everyone asked me questions until it got late and we decided to go to bed.

Deku and I walked into my room and got changed, I laid down on the bed and Deku laid on top of me, giving me a quick kiss before resting his head on my chest where my heart was. I smiled softly and wrapped my arms around him, both of us slowly falling asleep.
